About the clamp article.

I think that the clamp article was very good, except one thing I don't agree on:
"Fai is the only new character of the main cast, not having appeared so far in any of CLAMPs previous series" Fai isn't the only one new, Kurogane is too. It dosen't matter that he look alike some of clamp's old characters, he's still a new character in Tsubasa reservoir chronicle.
Does anyone think the same?

It's arguable, I think. On the one hand, Kurogane DOES look a lot like Zima from Chobits. But on the other, what exactly defines a character? Is it merely their face/looks, or their personality? Obviously, it's not the looks that matter so much as the personality behind them (consider identical twins). And Kurogane's aggressive personality is about as far away from Zima's pacifistic stance as they come. By that, I guess he consititutes a new character. But then again, you'll also have to consider whether the other lookalike crossover characters also have different personalities. If so, the case for a new character gets weakened a lot, since it might be CLAMP's intention to just have the looks and not the personality to remind us of the other series.

(Of course, if you consider Zima's partner Dita, you'll realise that Kurogane could be a hybrid of the two characters. Zima's looks with Dita's personality. He's like their son or something. )

What I find more disconcerting about the article is the misspelling of Syaoran's and Del Rey's names. Some simple research should have shown the proper way to spell both.

But in an interwiew CLAMP say that Kurogane and Fai are BOTH NEW characters. Even though Kurogane resembles Zima, he is not the person in question.
