So i forgot exactley what chapter it was in but when
WARNING, SPOILER:Aokiji fights Luffy, after the Davy Back fight and freezes luffy he says something like "oh and smoker says, oh forget it *something something something*

what was up with that

WARNING, SPOILER:I still hold a brief shimmer of hope that Smoker will join the straw hats

also on the topic of
WARNING, SPOILER:Aokiji v. Luffy, Luffy's new power when he starts steaming (i heard it refered to as vulcanization, which makes sense considering he is made of rubber) does anyone think that will have any effect on Aokiji's ice power

Nothing about Luffy's new Gear is know yet all that's it's being heard is just fan speculation

But I also think it's the process you said

With the new moves that this Gear brings, Luffy will be a more dangerous opponent for Ao Kiji

There's no way Smoker is going to become a Pirate, that goes against his sense of True Justice

And what Ao Kiji refers when talking to Luffy in the fight about Smoker is what Smoker said after Alabasta

I see where your coming from but isnt it possible that maybe the Shinchi Bukai will take over the government (smoker hates them) and maybe get that girl killed (the one that loks like Zolo's old friend) and then maybe he'll join

now i remember Smoker saying something after albasta, but i forgot grrrrr

Tashigi - the girl that looks like Kuina Zoro's old rival/friend

Ouka Shichi Bukai - Seven Below the King (the original translation)
Known was Seven Samurai of the Ocean or something like that

But the Shichi Bukai work for the World Goverment so they would turn against them so easilly

Smoker will be present, that's for sure but after Luffy and not to join

I think Smoker's words where "I'll get him!" refering to Luffy
