stock is basically a picture in a sig/banner/avatar/etc. of a person/car/etc. cropping is when you cut some part of a picture and making it smaller using the crop tool (in your toolbar to the left).

nice texture, good clean image. Nice cropping and great colour. 'Feel' looks a little too close to the edge.
The leading (space between lines of text) is a little too much for the central text.

The typography could be a bit stronger, but otherwise it's a really nice banner.

Try varying the shades in the background, it adds some real depth. As is, it seems a bit flat, maybe try usign a blue => black toned background to make it a little more lively, by using colour balance layers beneath the stock layer, and try not to brush over the stock too much, otherwise it might become over blended.

Well, you can try adding more contrast/depth to it. I suggest you use adjustment layers. They can do wonders. An 1 pixel outline around the text can also make it stand out.

The brushing that goes on top of the render seems a bit distracting. But it's nice otherwise.

Try adding a new layer. Just take a dark brush and brush over it randomly leaving some dark and light spots. Then set the blending mode to overlay. That will give you some contrast and depth in your work, to help keep it from looking so plain like one simple pattern

You can always have a duplicate of the stock in top of all the layers and put it in overlay.

The problem with my new one is that you can hardly see the stock, the brushing goes over it a little too much.

Here's a simple Death Note one. I focused on the typo, that's why the backround is plain.



I should porbably do a border, but I can't seem to think of anything creative. Plus the fact that a black border won't really show up since the bg is black.

EDIT: I went with a red border just to F around. If anybody has any comments, feel free to say them.

Its pretty neat and notable keeping in mind that its black & white.But,I think, it`d be better if it had a grey-scale kinda effect rather than being fully monochromatic. edit-gah wrong smiley.

I liked your former ones. This one is oversaturated. Maybe you could have a fresh stock layer over all of this and try out the curve layer. (layer > new adjustment layer > curves). But that's only my perspective. I think the text is fine, though the white border is sharp, you could maybe lower the opacity.

Like the 1st one and the 3rd one.Only negative thing i noticed is that you went a bit high on saturation.Otherthan that I think they`re one of your best works till date.

I like the third one. Mostly because of the leaves. Nothing is really bad about it except for...theres no border and the color of the text is annoying. In the second one, the text is a little hard to read and the whiteish blotches are not going with the overall pic. Finally, the first one...The pic you used looks a bit faded. I dunno if you wanted it that way, but his face is hard to see...with all the detail and all. You are improving every time you do a new sig. I can just tell.

I like the third one better. Not only the leaves, but you can see the picture clearly. The background is a bit too dark, but that's just me. On the second one, you should put a border on the text so you could see the text clearly. Ummm, I think that's all I have. ^^;

The Dark on e is pretty sweet.

Work on where you put the leaves and see that it doesn't draw attention away from the stock. I don't like the first two because of the colors over-run and very scratch-y too. Maybe you could try to not have any brushing over the stock but rather around it. They're good otherwise.

The typography grabs too much attention. Look at the sig you're using and look at the one you made. The stock itself could use more blending. Same with the bg, it isn't interesting enough to compete with the text.

My very first animation, I'm quite satisfied.

There seems to be a new trend for aniamted text. Let me point out that animation doesn't always make sigs look better.

I rather like this one, how you use just dulled out the bg gradually and focused on the stock. I see the sense of movement and your brushing is definitely intentional. Truth be told, it looks like a good photomanip. /no1

Here's a suggestion: Rather then having the whole phrase animated, just have maybe one word or two moving. Or have the lines fade in and fade out one by one, you know, to show some sort of stability and flow at the same time.

Anyway, cutting neeeds work. So does blending. The stock and bg don't go together. And the bg doesn't have enough deapth, looks like random brushing. Come now, you can do better.

The 'ro loading screen' is quite good.There`s a lot of activity in the right part which would definitely keep the user glued,cause it`ll make him/her check the characters over and give something to do while waiting for the screen to load.
On second note,its very simple too.
The sprites one is simple and elegant too.Good selection of colors for it.
About the latest one,the stock needs some work and also the color of the stock doesn`t quite match the b.g,try tinkering with the hue.Otherthan that,its okay.

Good grunge. A bit more texture nd it'll be awesome. Try to make it sharper too, not too sharp. And somewhat saturated, but still even throughout. And brushing off the face. Around is fine, but you shouldn't put brushing on the face. Good work.

I like this new one, especially what you did with your name... I just saw it now. I agree with Sakuya, You can use sharpen on the grunges, it makes them look more grungy. and I suggest you use eraser with the shape of the grunge that you used to erase some of the brushing on the face.

I agree, and I personally think grunge brushes (some of them) works way better when used in pencil vs. brush tool.

I'm think I'm gonna start doing grunge now, so basically, no more abstract for me. Here's a new grunge one, I actually like this one, I just started experimenting with tons of different things.

OOOooooh... I love that one, sexy.... I personally think this is your best sig. Usually I'm bothered by the pixelation, and sharpness on the edges of the stock, but I understand why you left it that way. I love it.

I mean, it could be more grunge-fied, if you really want to make grunge.
Try to select the stock only and then expanding/compacting the border under 'select'. You can create different effects like that if you play with that and the marquee tools.

Work with the edge of the stock. Use grunge brushes/eraser tool or else this style will get old fast.

This grunge technique works well with you, but that doesn't mean you can start becoming formulaic. They're very nice... but even nice things can start losing their value if they become repetitive. But great job on all of the last ones... you've improved quite a bit in such a short period of time.

I like the bookmark, though the only thing I'd say is to try avoid it being too monotone; it works once or twice maybe, though generally its something you should move away from...

As for the wallpaper, I don't like the way the scanlines come over the stock; it makes the edges seem pixellated in places.
The text seems odd to me, kind of out-of-place in te wallpaper, and the background brushing doesn't seem very structured, even for a grunge style.
Overall, its alright, but keep trying mate.

I like most of it, though the font for "The God Of War" doesn't fit IMO, maybe if it was smaller, or a non-pixel font.
The colours....I'd play more to the yellow or the purple of the stock; the blue/turquioseish colours are good but too much of it draws attention to the negative space to the left.

Your new set is pretty nice. Just an advice: If you're going to cut a merged section of your sig to make an avatar, make sure to sharpen it a little, sometimes they do not match well like the one you have right now.

I'm not a sprite sig fan. Maybe it's because I see them used too often in the same way, but I'm fickle.

Your last sig is pretty interesting. I don't think you should entirely brush the BG or something, fill it in with text (rather than that little thing I could hardly see) or just maybe some pretty decorations haha. I'm not really sure what you could fill it up with, but the brushing seems kind of repetitive and empty. But I love your color scheme, it works really well for the sig. (:

Meh, been working with some other GFX'ers and we started a graphics group at AP (Anime Paper). So there for, havent really been here much.

Too much red.
Too much scanlines = Overused.
The blending is awkward/abrupt.

Work on the stock itself... I mean, render it first, then make a sig.

I think it has too much negative space.

The rich,bright whites and the dark blacks aren`t going well with each other.
They`re burning my eyes. o.o
I think It`d be better to make the whites a little faded or the darks more mosaic or light.

I agree with the uncreative booger, though. It looks much better than your wallpaper. I would like it if it wasn't so depressing to look at, hon. e.e; The really dark sides make me mad. Other than that, it's pretty, and aluminium foil-like.

Star brushes, very little lighting brushes. As for the techno thing, I don't really know, I was listening to "Techno Logic" and it just like fit, so I added the text.
