The hosts with a * have been known to work very well. The rest without * do not neccessarily mean that they do not work well.

Host an Image (allows hotlinking)

You can use these to host an image for your signature or avatar. Of course, you may also hotlink them in your posts. Some may also allow uploads of files.

• ImageShack (jpg, jpeg, gif, png, gif, bmp, tif, tiff, swf, max 1 MB*)
• Fapomatic (jpg, jpeg, png, gif, allows adult content, max 1.5 MB)
• PhotoBucket (jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp, max 1 MB*)
• fileUPYOURS (any, max 250 MB)
• cdupload
• Putfile (media filetypes, max 2-10 MB dependent on filetype)
• Sharebigfile (very slow, requires to specify an email, temporary)
• UploadHut (any)

Host a File

These services are to host a file and you will not be able to hotlink your images. You will have to send the visitor to a page on their site.

• YouSendIt (any, temporary, max 1024 MB*)
• MegaUpload (any, deleted after 30 days of no downloads, slow, max 500 MB)
• RapidShare (any, downloads may start after a delay, max 50 MB)
• FileFront (any)
• Ourmedia (strictly for content that you have copyright/ownership of, have obtained clearance for, and/or can use under well-accepted fair use standards)

Yes! You don't know how annoying it was when Members would just attach random pictures that had nothing to do with the subject........

at least this will fix the bandwidth problem

You could also trying using Ripway as they also allow adult content, + they have high bandwidth (for my needs anyway) but only a max of 30 mb is allowed per account.

deviantART is not an image hosting service. Nor will it work if you try.

Yes, but you can still host your images on there and show them to other people. That's what I meant.

But that doesn't replace the purpose of the attachments. Secondly, deviantART was not made for casual uploading.

To me it's kinda complicated cause when i started and i tried to upload the pic from online i ended up witha blank Url pic and i had it all done with photobucket

Hmm I've sent you a PM to help you out ^^ personally I would use imageshack.us, its fast, reliable and you don't need to go through all the tedious restrictions and registrations that photobucket has

Addin this at the begining of your YSI link, it'll remove the 25 downloads limit of the file, sadly there is still no fix for the 7 days limit, but'll keep you informed if i find anything

Save your pic on a site like Photobucket and use the Url.

Personal photo goes on your profile. I think it has to be a certain size like the avatar, just larger, I'm not certain because I don't use it.

I don't know if a personal profile pic has a size limit... My one is 300kb. Your sig has a limit of 100kb. Also personal profile pics have larger dimensions!

This is just explaining how you can upload an image or other file to a website, and then by using a link with image tags (provided in the code below) so others can view what you uploaded.

The URL you used for your avatar is a webpage, not a direct URL to an image file.
