YUKI AND MY PM!

Also the photo incident with me. It is like he won't let it go, and he also says "He doesn't hold grudges" When he is holding one on me and saying he hates me etc., then when I try to help a member or something he has to post a smart bum remark and stuff, so I feel he needs to fix up his act, or be banned. I already informed an admin about him, just making it public.

Not sure but I was also thinking, what if you also gave the moderating people of those exact Series discussion to the corresponding club. So.. e.g. fma --> extra job for fma club moderators there. XD But its only a thought nonetheless.

Recently there have been "incidents" where members posted in the forums about how they have been warned "unjustly" or for "no apparent reason". Could I suggest that the moderators or administrators, when giving out warnings, also send the person a PM explaining the warning.

In this way, the person would know the reason for the warn, and more importantly, if he/she wishes to contest the warn, the natural reaction would be to reply to the PM instead of posting in the forums.

Just my two cents worth.

But that also rings up a bell.. I think if that person who got the warn, can actually acknowledge how he got the warn, if he/she clicks on the number underlined under their gender gif picture.

It should state the reason..well thats the same for the IPB I used b4..

Pretty good so far! Grammar police are silently editing people's posts to a good extent as well!

Silently? I recall MyriadSouls added an OOC under the posts he corrected. It's a bit inappropiate to "edit" posts w/o notice. It tricks readers into the belief it was what the original poster wrote. Worse, the persons who wrote originally will never know, that they got "censored", or "corrected". Unless it's things like "he throat a kinfe" -> "He throwed a knife."

To be honest I don't know to which extend the GP "corrects" posts. Do they have sth like a "constitution" of what (and how) to edit and what not?

Recently there have been "incidents" where members posted in the forums about how they have been warned "unjustly" or for "no apparent reason". Could I suggest that the moderators or administrators, when giving out warnings, also send the person a PM explaining the warning.

In this way, the person would know the reason for the warn, and more importantly, if he/she wishes to contest the warn, the natural reaction would be to reply to the PM instead of posting in the forums.

Just my two cents worth.

I use to do this everytime, but then a while back I started recieving mean, cruel, flamming hurtful PMs in return. Thus I stopped doing this PM explain thing. Though I still do it rarely.

Yah I agree with Aurora, although Global mods are doing a great job, the forum itself is just way too big to moderate between couple of ppl. Probably most annoying thing is how offtopic ppl go in series discussion, not to mention spreading topics that have already been made b4, or its total spam.

That's why we are ASKING to people to tell us when something's wrong... huh.gif

I don't think Sk would agree on putting specific mods. There would be too much people to handle with. The point is that there's moderators for FC because they're made on the request of an individual, and that this individual is supposed to do a Mod job. There's also a Mod for a very particular forum...

Last point : Lust, quoting a post who was made in a private forum wasn't nice (out of the context). And this was a joking-summary of an official Admin statement. But to answer to Aurora Sword's question, yes, they can do it.

O_o and really, even if a Mod was doing alot. One may not realize it. For they could be editing post (to remove inapproipate language) deleting spam post, moving/closing topics. It could have been a misinterpretation, or not. I haven't been in the introductions forum lately, but the most common reasons for closure of a topic is spam, and revived intro threads from long ago. It could have been misinterpreted by one of the mods or admins as a revival of an old intro thread.

As for reasons for closing a topic, if it isn't clear, most of the time we will post why it will be closed. If it's for obvious reasons, we might not give a reason (ie spam)

The admins and mods have been too careless lately in my eyes, a LOT. I've seen many rules being broken and yet it seems none of you guys realize them. I'm not going to tell you guys what they are. I want you guys to be more careful and aware of the rules breakers. Good luck in finding them.

Honestly, like Shugo-kun has said, the moderating team and administration can't cover every single post, thread and corner of this site. There will be times when you see rules broken and there's no punishment. It's because, simply put, we aren't aware of it. ohmy.gif

It should be blatantly obvious why something is closed; it's either repeated, it's in the wrong section, it has the potential to become/is a flame war, it's inappropriate, or it's against the rules. You have a one in five chances of getting it right the first time, take a crazy whack at it.

I also refered to metatron's topic, who was also closed.

What topic was this?

It was a come back topic after he's been away for about 3 weeks or more.
He was hospitalised during that time. (or part of it)

It could have been a misinterpretation, or not. I haven't been in the introductions forum lately, but the most common reasons for closure of a topic is spam, and revived intro threads from long ago. It could have been misinterpreted by one of the mods or admins as a revival of an old intro thread.

uh, I bet like 95% of posts in that forum are spam...such as "Welcome to KAF" -_=
And the fact that my topic and perez's topic both were locked kinda [censored]ed me quite a bit. If both topic were misinterpreted, then something is wrong. Metatron probably wouldnt care that much about that topic but imagine if it was someone else...You come back after 3 weeks in a hospital and your come back topic got anonymously locked.

And, when you close a topic, can you please provide a clear (very clear) reason to why it is closed instead of using sarcasm or making some unclear joke about it, or not even bother about it. The reason might've been obvious for you, but other people especially newbies wont understand.

It should be blatantly obvious why something is closed; it's either repeated, it's in the wrong section, it has the potential to become/is a flame war, it's inappropriate, or it's against the rules. You have a one in five chances of getting it right the first time, take a crazy whack at it.

Yes, but newbies would not understand that.
but, lets use an example.

now, Paris123, the maker of the topic, would certainly not understand what you mean. I only know why you closed the topic because I have read this post, where you explained the matter properly:

I said it right there; if she would want to argue against it, she should PM me directly. The only reason why I did not link to what you provided is because it was NOT an abortion thread.

Lastly, it didn't really look like it was going to go anywhere, and it was in the wrong section to begin with.

Does anyone else get the irony of the coathanger?

No?

Damn j00s.

If you are curious as to why a topic is closed or deleted, or where it even is, you can always drop us a line. I'm here everyday.

Very true however, that it is probably annoying for you to have topics you were interested in, or that of which you had made, to be closed and be confused with the reason. It would be more convenient to you if we did, of course, and we'll try from now on. But if we forget, try to look through the topic before you tease us about being lazy. deadtongue.gif

And whenever I move topics, I don't leave a "moved" message in where it was originally posted. Why? Because it leaves 2 links. :Z

It's complicated, but generally, I get annoyed when people put things in the wrong place, and especially if it was in the vain hope that I would leave a moved topic message so that it could be seen in two forums. deadtongue.gif

Then on again, I generally don't tell you in my own vain hope that it annoys you enough so that you don't make the same mistake. deadtongue.gif

I don't even bother in the introductions page anymore.
For example: People used to copy a message like ah yes something a certain member did alot I believe: -Em Hotep-
You'd see that in every introduction topic and it was quite clearly something not many others understood and was just thrown into the topic for some strange reason, it isn't really a welcome to kaf kind of thing to me. But anyway that was just an example.
Introduction topics tend to get spammed alot after a while.

When it's happened to me, I sometimes got 2-4 of them because the site keeps on "crashing", and I keep thinking it didn't move successfully. About half-an-hour later, there are that many links for some reason. There was only one instance with me where I only did it once and it left two links behind.

So yes, from now on, I don't think I'm going to leave a notice - except in the thread.

-I only post pure spam in RR anyway and I think most post outside RR do either have something to do with the topic or is a respond to previous post/s. Which means, It is going somewhere, instead of, say, the what song you're listening to. Till the end of time, people will always write about what song they're listening to at the time (Not going anywhere). But its not a reason to lock a topic is it.

You're pretty good at spamming elsewhere too, saying something on a personal level instead of retaining relevence.

An example of a thread gone way off-track: http://www.keiichianimeforever.com/boards/...ad,30359.0.html

You'd be surprised; I wouldn't blink if that topic got locked because of its sheer spamminess, just like the "What is going through your head?" topic.

It constituted as spam. It did not sound realistic at all. And it would have sparked random comments from members, and, as the way things are, things would have drifted into non-sensical chatter. I gave the creator the opportunity to justify his posting of that thread, and he basically told me he was really, really over-exagerrating.

Could some RP-MOD cross-check, if ppl only make up bios, just because they don't get it, that this is actually only for KAF for RPing (i.e. their post is a spam)!? Or if those are actually active anywhere!? There is so few RPing under A-RP and RPG that it feels funny how much bios pile up those days...
