By moderators, does it include the fanclub moderators, or just global moderators?

Yes I have a complant ioioe edited my post on the xbox fanclub under the game reviews topic in the fanclub section and he edited my post to say this.

and my next post has me extremlly angree.And I didn't say the censered part please bam or warn him cause this is really bad.

What did you say in it? If it's something bad, then he is allowed to edit it.

We were having an argument and I said "How dare you edit my post" he edited that post and the next post that I posted.

Because there's inside every IPB board journals of everything (except in the case you made them disappear or closed, that's also a possibility). The logs don't log post edits. It honestly sucks.

In response to this incident, a few days ago I modified the forum myself to record all edits from now on.

There's another option I've just seen : in the moderation option when you're an admin of an IPB board there's an Historic Of The Topic... Can you try that way?

It's equivalent to viewing the logs in Admin CP.

Pineapple's getting a little annoying. I'm not trying to sound like a whiner or anything, but he got in this arguement with a guy named 'Angel of Ashes' in the main chat room for over a half hour, even after Jayu Makusho told them to stop or go to another room.

I really didn't want to hear about it...

We sorted that out; and if you don't like reading arguments, then it's simple. Don't read them. Either go to a different room, ignore it, or put up with it.

Um...none of the dragonball mods (except me) have posted ever since the KAF crash....and the owner never came back

I only just registered here so I didn't know that. I *was* told to go to another room - can't remember who - but I didn't know that it was a rule.

Exactly what I have been saying to people but they don't seem to listen, this coming from a mod is a great deal of help.

Hey Riogi, think you could do me a favor and tell ZeroXX to stop PMing everytime I do my job. every time I tell peopel to stop spamming he PM's me these stupid messages that are spam themselves. Is there a way to block a member from PMing you or someting?

Yes. In the PM buddies list, you can also block PMs.

Umm...well I just wanted to say that inuyasha evan keeps spamming in Ranma 1/2 fanclub. I made a topic about it, that they can't spam, but he still does. He just posts pointless words like lol, ok, and so on. I told him....he still does it. I warned him that I'll report to an admin or super mod, he still does. soooooo....what should I do?? I could just delete his posts, but that doesn't reduse the # of posts he made

umm... PM him or give him a warning, say that he should learn from me or MrMiroku is he wants to increase his post count

PM an admin or mod. He/she can then be banned from your club. It will be by honor though but if he violates it and goes into your fanclub, he is banned from all the forums.

If there are any issues with any of the moderators, shouldn't we just PM the admin? Posting negative moderator feedback for everyone to see is not a good solution; after all, washing dirty linen in public can lead to further quarrels and result in bad blood.

Also the photo incident with me. It is like he won't let it go, and he also says "He doesn't hold grudges" When he is holding one on me and saying he hates me etc., then when I try to help a member or something he has to post a smart bum remark and stuff, so I feel he needs to fix up his act, or be banned. I already informed an admin about him, just making it public.

It was so much more organized and they also had a permanent post for links to each of the series' topics. Just an idea.

Could I request that when moderators move or close a topic, please kindly leave a word as to why the topic is moved/closed. Yes, I know most of the moderators are already doing this, but sometimes they do "forget".

By doing this, it will help members follow the flow of the thread better, and perhaps to not make the same mistake (if there was one) again.

Not sure but I was also thinking, what if you also gave the moderating people of those exact Series discussion to the corresponding club. So.. e.g. fma --> extra job for fma club moderators there. XD But its only a thought nonetheless.

Yah I agree with Aurora, although Global mods are doing a great job, the forum itself is just way too big to moderate between couple of ppl. Probably most annoying thing is how offtopic ppl go in series discussion, not to mention spreading topics that have already been made b4, or its total spam.

Recently there have been "incidents" where members posted in the forums about how they have been warned "unjustly" or for "no apparent reason". Could I suggest that the moderators or administrators, when giving out warnings, also send the person a PM explaining the warning.

In this way, the person would know the reason for the warn, and more importantly, if he/she wishes to contest the warn, the natural reaction would be to reply to the PM instead of posting in the forums.

Just my two cents worth.

I use to do this everytime, but then a while back I started recieving mean, cruel, flamming hurtful PMs in return. Thus I stopped doing this PM explain thing. Though I still do it rarely.

That's why we are ASKING to people to tell us when something's wrong...

I don't think Sk would agree on putting specific mods. There would be too much people to handle with. The point is that there's moderators for FC because they're made on the request of an individual, and that this individual is supposed to do a Mod job. There's also a Mod for a very particular forum...

Anyway, I've been wanting to ask, if the Grammar Police can leave "Edit by" messages, why not moderators? After all, it'd be good if the moderators could explain why they corrected the posts, so that members would understand what went wrong and avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

O_o and really, even if a Mod was doing alot. One may not realize it. For they could be editing post (to remove inapproipate language) deleting spam post, moving/closing topics. PMing people asking them to stop or do certain things. And a member may never see all these things. However it is quite easy to see a post, with a edit by a Grammar Police at the end of if.

So..you never know..they may be everywhere as well

It could have been a misinterpretation, or not. I haven't been in the introductions forum lately, but the most common reasons for closure of a topic is spam, and revived intro threads from long ago. It could have been misinterpreted by one of the mods or admins as a revival of an old intro thread.

As for reasons for closing a topic, if it isn't clear, most of the time we will post why it will be closed. If it's for obvious reasons, we might not give a reason (ie spam)

Honestly, like Shugo-kun has said, the moderating team and administration can't cover every single post, thread and corner of this site. There will be times when you see rules broken and there's no punishment. It's because, simply put, we aren't aware of it.

It should be blatantly obvious why something is closed; it's either repeated, it's in the wrong section, it has the potential to become/is a flame war, it's inappropriate, or it's against the rules. You have a one in five chances of getting it right the first time, take a crazy whack at it.

And the fact that my topic and perez's topic both were locked kinda [censored]ed me quite a bit. If both topic were misinterpreted, then something is wrong. Metatron probably wouldnt care that much about that topic but imagine if it was someone else...You come back after 3 weeks in a hospital and your come back topic got anonymously locked.

I don't even bother in the introductions page anymore.
For example: People used to copy a message like ah yes something a certain member did alot I believe: -Em Hotep-
You'd see that in every introduction topic and it was quite clearly something not many others understood and was just thrown into the topic for some strange reason, it isn't really a welcome to kaf kind of thing to me. But anyway that was just an example.
Introduction topics tend to get spammed alot after a while.

When it's happened to me, I sometimes got 2-4 of them because the site keeps on "crashing", and I keep thinking it didn't move successfully. About half-an-hour later, there are that many links for some reason. There was only one instance with me where I only did it once and it left two links behind.

Could some RP-MOD cross-check, if ppl only make up bios, just because they don't get it, that this is actually only for KAF for RPing (i.e. their post is a spam)!? Or if those are actually active anywhere!? There is so few RPing under A-RP and RPG that it feels funny how much bios pile up those days...

I don't see the problem with having a few pages of bios to look through- not that I'd ever waste my time bothering because there's probably nothing special- so why complain?

Echo Angel, it's called keeping the forums spamless; there are people who post bios for no apparent reason, because they'll make it, but they won't roleplay at all. Heck, I've been roleplaying for quite awhile now, but I never bothered to make one. It's something that should be taken into consideration.
