I have seen previews of it. Says they are planning to make a fast-paced freeroaming FPS, so you can pull off fast acrobatics and such with it. It looks slick, smooth, and sweet. Can't wait until it is farther in development. |

From what I've heard, it doesn't sound free-roaming. Previews from magazines have lead me to believe that straying away from the bright colors tends to lead players to dead-ends, which would be bad while being chased by enemies. The game does look incredibly awesome though, especially if it's all like what's in that trailer. -------------------

Looks simply amazing and makes me want a PS3 just for it. The music in the video was breathtaking as well. |

Hmm...I dunno. Doesn't look that great to me. Rather than stylized it comes off to me as a lack of shading and coloring. Neat concepts though. -------------------

I don't really like it much either. Nothing from what I saw looked very realistic, and it overall made me think of Reboot. o_O -------------------

Lack of shading/shadows = clean look, which was their intention. It's a 1984-style dystopian city. I personally think it looks better than most games out now. It does something that it can do. Clean looks are easier to do, and they have the lighting down right. If you look at all the "dark" games nowadays, you'll notice that the light reflections off most of the materials are far too metallic looking. They try to cover it up with bloom, which just brings down the realism even further. (Biggest example, although this is old, is Doom 3.) That's one of the reasons why I think Half-Life 2 looks better than a lot of the games nowadays. It doesn't have all the latest effects, but the lighting reflection is good (and realistic). Also, their texture work is good, which not all companies put effort into (bad textures = ugly, no matter what). However, in the trailer, the train station scene as well as the one where you are hanging off of something are both ugly. Though, the texture of her pants is AMAZING (you need to get the HD version to see it). |

Greatest show ever. GAME APPROACHING. Or whatever they said.
Oh yeah, dystopian societies make for great settings in games. |

I understand its style and look, but lack of shading/shadows, in this case looks more like lack of polish. The way the body parts come into view, they look very poorly done. I guess I'd really need to see more content though. Going by that trailer it doesn't look like anything special. But yeah, Doom 3 is about 4 years old now using tech of course developed well before that and ID's own. I don't really understand this "metallic" you describe seen in well shaded/lighted games short of Doom 3. Farcry for example, is beautiful. Carmack does realism like M. Night Shyamalan does non fiction :S -------------------

I think he means where the lighting makes a distinct line on the wall where it ends, though don't quote me on that. Probably wrong. I don't even really care if this game isn't the most realistic and has a stranger perspective, at least it's something new and different. It gets old playing games that don't even bother treading on new ground. There also seems to be shading in the video to me. -------------------
