First of all I must start by apologizing for speaking my mind. I was mistaken by thinking this was America. How come every time someone speaks out against naruto their topic is closed? However if I were to badmouth hellsing it would be called a debate. Nobody is even trying to understand my thoughts on naruto except for Resu. By the way I have seen ALL episodes of this show (including fillers). Do you really think I am as ignorant as Seminasuke who uses grammar instead of reason to destroy someone’s argument. Flaming and argumentation are two different things. I have an argument and I wanted a response, this is debate form is it not? I simply want the privilege of being able to speak my mind.

You're in the wrong forum for this. =/ You should take it to feedback.

And just because Americans have the freedom of speech doesn't mean you can't say some things without consequence. If a thread went off topic for the pure purpose of an argument it should be closed.

This site isn't here for arguments and flaming.

I do like Naruto, but I argee with what you're saying to an extent. The thread should of been open for longer than it was, I think. Next time it should be left open long enough for him to explain his reasons and give us a chance to convert him tell him what we like about Naruto. heh.gif

And I argee that this site isn't for flaming, but it is for discussion, I believe. Once it got to the point of just "Naruto sucks" "No, you suck" then it should be closed.

He could and should have explained all his reasons for not liking a series. The thread was generally useless and a magnet for spam and flaming.
If you're going to state an opinion do it properly and not as a rant.

they are all right...the administrators at this site are biased and need to respect the opinions of the other member and I run several successful fan sites and talking from an administrator's point of view i would hate when some one doesn't agree but its a right of free speech and there is nothing wrong with stating there opinion. Instead of just closing every single b/c you don't like what they are saying talk to them and try and see where they are coming from. I have seen some of there other topics and members have gotten involved and spammed and flammed.
This small group of member who go through this should be talked to but not just shunned and ignored DEAL with them the proper way and let them speak.

I think Naruto is an alright anime. I can't stand the character Naruto. He is a "ninja" yes? then why does he wear an orange jumpsuit? That's not stealthy. You could maby sneak past an orange tree. But probbly not even that, because they are mainly GREEN due to LEAVES. The only reason, a ninja should dress in mother I love j00!!!! ORANGE is if he is aftaid he is going to [censored] his pants and dosn't want anyone to know, OR if he has a mission were all of his time will be spent wallowing in orange paint.

Naruto does have its good and bad points but still. nono.gif
Flamming and spamming are serious offenses when it comes to forums and should and most likely will not be tolerated.

I say That Roninnoodle should watch what he says but you shouldn't so hard on him.
Also, people need to understand that not everyone will like Naruto or every other anime.

The Admins should take action on this little situation involving this member and his other buddys that do the same. arigato.gif

Quick question.
Well, two questions.
Are we actually going to discuss anime? Or are we going to annoying one about who should be hard on one another?

Now back to anime,
(Because that's what keiichianimeforever is for. ANIME, not a womans support group on feelings)
One of the things I do quite like about Naruto is the seal system with witch they cast Ninjtsu. It's rather brilliant.

If you want me to list reasons for not liking naruto here they are.
1. NARUTO WEARS ORANGE!!!
2. English voice acting is terrible
3. Why use so many bright colors?
4. Story line is sooo predictable.
5. Too many fillers.
6. \Characters are not complex for such a long series.

Now please explain reasons why you like it.

First of all, you're right in that America does have this so called freedom of speech. However freedom of speech is not absolute. Having your so called freedom of speech doesn't warrant many things such as yelling "BOMB!" inside a passenger-filled airplane. Doing so will get you in trouble. There is no absolute freedom of speech in this forum, as there is none anywhere else you go.

You have the freedom to express your opinions but as I already explained to you via PMs, using the crudest choice of words possible such as "craptastic" which you've used and caps on your thread only begs for flames and spams, which it garnered hence I closed it. If you're going to start an opinion-based topic, please make sure that the tone is formal and not seemingly a rant as Sai already explained.

Now to go off-topic a little, about the orange costume--it's an anime designed to target kids. Kids gravitate toward bright colors. It would be a total visual bore if everyone just wore black as the fictitious ninjas did. The orange may also be symbolic of the main protagonist's character aura (cheerful, energetic, etc..)

And don't think anti-Naruto threads are being singled out. I would close any opinion-based thread starting with sentences such as: "I hate this anime, it's annnnnnnnnnoyyyyyyiing...it's CRAPTASTIC!!!"

Now I'm moving this to the feedback for further discussion. This doesn't belong here.

First of all, it's "speech."

Second of all, this is the Internet. Your rights on it are limited by the sites and forums in which you visit. Because a location on the Internet is not a sovereign state, does not rule over anyone, or can prevent anyone from migrating, rights are not an issue. Don't like a site? You can leave. Your American, Canadian, Japanese, French, German, Chinese (or lack of), etc. rights do not extend to sites themselves.

Your thread was locked before your post was filled with grammar and spelling errors, said "annnnnnnnnnnn...," and used such descriptive words as "CRAPTASTIC" (/sarcasm). Your comment that "I've seen preschool students make better ningas," other than misspelling ninjas, did not carry any purpose in explaining why you dislike NARUTO. The only two points that you mention are that you deplore the [English] voice acting, and the story line. Unfortunately, you never mention the reasons as to why you disfavor the story line, so far as it can be gathered, you hate it based on a feeling, rendering your critique completely baseless and worthless. Your post was not an analysis; it was a (pointless) rant.

It could be concluded, from past experience, that a thread started with such an opening post would have quickly gone to spam. It was locked for the good of the community.

-------

It is not an issue of freedom of speech; it's an issue of Roninoodle writing a useful critique and review. KING has absolutely no clue how much "freedom of speech" we actually allow. KING is only citing lame examples of freedom of speech. Any respectable administrator would not even care about these small things. Freedom of speech is only a factor when a dissenting opinion is argued against the administration itself, which I might add, would be an insta-ban on a lot of forums.

We let people speak as long as it is not against the rules. Roninoodle's post was on the verge of spam. Let's put it this way: would have Roninoodle's post been featured in an analytical anime magazine? By far no.

The thread wasn't closed because the staff member didn't agree or like what was being said. He closed it because it was a magnet for trouble and it was just a spammy, useless thread. Make those threads in Random Rambling.

There are several threads that are open even though they state opinions that other people don't agree with. But since those opinions are stated well, with good grammar, and bring their point out without the use of words like "craptastic".

There is no right of free speech without consequences of ones actions and or words. If you don't like the site, do us all a favor and leave and don't come back.
We have plenty of members with some sense so we don't need your trifle.

*points to sk*
He limits your rights on this site.

And with the bomb thing, the point remains valid, even though the situtation is not equal. The point being that you can't say just anything without expecting some kind of reaction, quite possibly a consequence. You can't go into your classroom and start ranting to people about how you hate something and expect to just get away with it. It's the wrong place and the wrong way.
There are wrong and right ways to do something. You did it wrong. All you did was rant and complain about the show without bringing any points in to support your opinion to make your topic intelligent.

Like I said, don't like it? Leave.

well..uh.. You are obviously ranting on and on now. I DID give my points to why I didn’t like the show and by the way I don’t HATE the anime I just don't see the big deal. I actually asked you and the others to post why YOU LIKE IT. Guess what? You didn’t do it. Instead you went on and on about what I should have done and started attacking and flaming like an immature 8 year old. thumbsup.gif great job. Oh and by the way its not just LIMITING someones freedom of speech its getting rid of it, when you shut down someones words and ideas so that they can not be seen or replied by anyone else.

Forums are for discussing? or are These forums on KAF just for pointless waste of time topics? EX: Who here watches Naruto? Read that topic and see if it is meaningful in any way.

Why can u have a topic talking about how much you love naruto and not have a topic of how much you dislike naruto? I mean having just one side is a great way to become ignorant and hard to respect.

I do. Every site owner does.

Quoted(ref) Roninoodle36 (on 17 March, 2007, 08:13 AM PST)

Is uselessly and immorally killing 10 people much better than 15? No. Your grammar isn't legitimized because there's worse out there.

Quoted(ref) Roninoodle36 (on 17 March, 2007, 08:13 AM PST)

thumbsup.gif

It's "topic" or "thread," not forum.

Both would be closed likely, if the contents of the topic were respective of the quality and thought put into the title.

Quoted(ref) Roninoodle36 (on 17 March, 2007, 02:04 PM PST)

I DID give my points to why I didn’t like the show

No, you didn't. You did not provide anything useful to anyone. So what if you don't like the voice acting, or happen to not like the story line? Does anyone give a crap? No. Make your post useful by providing reasons. "I do not like NARUTO's story line because..."

Quoted(ref) Roninoodle36 (on 17 March, 2007, 08:13 AM PST)

I actually asked you and the others to post why YOU LIKE IT. Guess what? You didn’t do it. Instead you went on and on about what I should have done and started attacking and flaming like an immature 8 year old.

Because your post was entirely USELESS. You were being immature and posting utter crap, and wasting space and bandwidth, and now you're bringing on an argument, in which you have not even replied to my own points.

Quoted(ref) Roninoodle36 (on 17 March, 2007, 08:13 AM PST)

Oh and by the way its not just LIMITING someones freedom of speech its getting rid of it, when you shut down someones words and ideas so that they can not be seen or replied by anyone else.

You cannot "shutdown" words or ideas. You can only "restrict" or "limit" words and ideas.

Quoted(ref) Roninoodle36 (on 17 March, 2007, 08:13 AM PST)

Forums are for discussing? or are These forums on KAF just for pointless waste of time topics?

Your post was a complete waste of time. Why do you expect "better" if you can't do any better?

Quoted(ref) Roninoodle36 (on 17 March, 2007, 08:13 AM PST)

EX: Who here watches Naruto?    Read that topic and see if it is meaningful in any way.

First of all, the content of the topic completely satisfies the point of the topic. The rant you posted in your thread was absolutely useless. Second of all, that thread was made over TWO YEARS AGO, when there were, what? < 15 or so active members? BAD EXAMPLE.

Quoted(ref) Roninoodle36 (on 17 March, 2007, 08:13 AM PST)

Why can u have a topic talking about how much you love naruto and not have a topic of how much you dislike naruto? I mean having just one side is a great way to become ignorant and hard to respect.

There ISN'T a thread about loving NARUTO. There is a thread about WATCHING NARUTO.

There aren't any sides at ALL. You have NO ARGUMENT.
