Stephanie Meyer has announced a Twilight anime to begin production Summer of 2010. The series will follow the books loosely and allow writers more freedoms to entertain fans with. More details to follow later.

Goodness. You'd think the millions of sold book copies, countless pieces of merchandise, and a whole string of movies would be a nice stopping point. What's next, an online RPG? "Pick your vampire: brooding, sparkly, or all of the above." Maybe a game for the DS where you waggle the stylus up and down to decrease Edward's already stark lack of emotion, or the shallowness of Bella.

How many adaptations until this thing finally gets put in the grave where it belongs? It's besmirching the concept of anime, if anything.

I remember people telling me that after the movies Twilight would die and the world would move on.

Then this comes along.

I think it'll just end up being yaoi fodder for all of the fangirls.

There's only so much emo pansy vampires that I can withstand. Blargh.

Though there is an part of me that says it would make a good anime. Then there's an part that's screaming in horror and wants to curl up in an ball and cry.

No interest in the movies or the books or the other many adaptations this series is likely to spawn. I don't understand where its getting its supposed popularity from. Majority of people I know dislike the series in some form and wish it would just end, why continue it? There's only one friend of mine that actually likes the books and enjoyed the first film but I doubt even she would go watch this (not to mention the fact she's not into anime at all). How many anime fans do they expect actually enjoyed the books or movies?

They did it with Halo, they did it with Batman, they did it with the Matrix. Hell, even the Powerpuff Girls have an anime now. I''m confused as to how this results in anything more than a "Huh. I wonder if they're ever going to make a third season of Big O?"

It would have worked better as a cartoon, real people are not made to be vampire-y...Maybe not anime though.

Hahahaha...That's my favorite part of that movie when he covers his nose like just smelled something horrible. Gosh, that's great.

It has more of an chance of me watching it if the art leans towards anime.
