So, I was wondering what other people did for thanksgiving, cause if it's as disfunctional as our thanksgiving, it would be interesting.
We have to have 2 different family gatherings, with my mom's side, and dad's side. I'm personally scared of my dad's family, so we leave early and go to my mom's side and stuff ourselves for a second time...*Probably eats 4000 calories on Thanksgiving* I have a party at both gatherings for my birthday, cake goes well with turkey. |

When we lived back in the southeast and everyone lived together we'd have everyone over. Grandpa (mom's side), Great Uncle(deceased) Great Aunt, and maybe some friends also if they wanted. People killed to sit at our over filled table at thanksgiving. My mom's cooking is off the rocker good. Yum. And since the guests didn't come till like early afternoon, we'd get to watch football/parades if our mom is in a giving mood at the time. When she cooks large meals she gets scary. I proably eat just as much or more. I have to wear my fat pants on that day. I wish I got cake on Thanksgiving. Lucky. And I wish an Happy Birthday early or late...I know not of which it is. -------------------

Thanksgiving is done with Spyder's immediate family consisting of his sister, her husband, and two sons, as well as his mom and dad. Occasionally his uncle pops up. Dinner is on the table by 4:00 ish, we watch the parade whenever it comes on, and after dinner we all play board or card games til we wanna pass out.
This will be the first Thanksgiving without Spyder's grandma, as she passed away last December, so it will likely be a more emotional holiday than usual. -------------------

I alternate between staying at home for dinner and going to my mom's mother's. It looks like this year, we may be eating out. Sounds grand...I'm not really into Thanksgiving. I like Christmas and New Year's better. -------------------

I'm attending my own, then my girlfriend's.
That is all. P.S. I plan to gorge myself thoroughly. -------------------

I get to entertain my mom's entire family (half of which want to kill the other half), cook two thirds of the dinner, mediate arguments, babysit, avoid getting caught in the crossfire of arguments, and clean up after everyone while trying to keep track of my homework.
Fun times. -------------------
