Name: Aurelia Kadis
Age: 27 years old Appearance: A tall, svelte woman with deep black hair, Aurelia has a slim face, and has features that some would consider beautiful, marred as though they are by a long scar running across her cheek. She wears a set of sanctified robes, woven in and out with prayers and litanies praising the God-Emperor. The robes themselves are a bland off-white, mildly deocrated with the Imperial Aquila across the chest. The robes are belted by a simple, wide strip of soft leather, embellished with Imperial icons and various benedictions. The cowl she generally wears about her head is lined with similar prayers and Imperial iconography, though it is for a more practical purpose than a simple headdress. This psychic hood, a much higher quality one than most, was gifted to her upon adoptation into the Inquisitor Sigismund Moristal's personal retinue, and serves to focus her abilities, and provide a bit of warding from various Warp hazards. Class: Sanctioned Psyker, Savant-Warrant, under authority of Inquisitor Sigisimund Moristal. A competent battle-psyker, Aurelia has spent most of her career assigned to Inquisitor Moristal's retinue, assisting him in his various Inquisitorial duties and research. Proving herself numerous times over, especially in the destruction of a Chaos cult on a Mechanicus Forge World, she was promoted to her current position, though she still serves with Inquisitor Moristal. Background: The daughter of an Imperial governor, she had lived a life of fair luxury for most of her life, until the Black Ships, the collectors of the psychically gifted, arrived. Though her father had attempted to barter with them, the Inquisitor traveling abord had taken a rather keen interest in her psychic talents, and had requested that she be taken abord immediately Brought through the rigourous testing processes onboard the ship before it had even reached Holy Terra, she was found to be unusally tuned to the Warp, and had the strength of will necessary to fend off corruption. After her Sanctioning and tutelage at the Scholastica Psykana, she was put into service under Inquisitor Moristal, who, after witnessing her combat abilities in a conflict with a small Ork force, promoted her into his personal retinue, where she has served ever since. Personality: Aurelia is a woman of few words. She rarely speaks, outside of telepathic speech, and when the situation calls for it, as when thought-speak would be disasterous to a diplomatic situation. Her vocal chords, ruined by her Sanctioning, have been replaced with a vox-inducer, allowing her to speak normally, although with a somewhat mechanical timbre to her voice. The inducer itself has bee upgraded, altering its appearance from a plain metal stud to a silver Aquila, shining in her throat. Contemplative and somewhat melancholic, though fierce on and off the battlefield, she prefers to solve things diplomatically, rather than resort to violence. Though typically cautious and tactical, she is often paranoid or worried, believeing that the Warp might consume her at any moment, or her powers might fail and let loose tides of Daemons, or worse, that she might be possessed. Being a somewhat capable Seer, she is afraid she'll foresee her own death, or the death of those important to her. She harbours a severe phobia of insects, becoming extremely irrational should she come into contact with any. Weapons: Beyond her Psyker abilities, Aurelia carries a holdout laspistol of a decent quality, though it is somewhat unreliable due to it's disuse. She also carries a small power blade, the sheath and handlegaurd ornately decorated with images of the Emperor from the pre-Horus Heresy era. Powers: The myriad of abilities a Psyker has is impossible to list comprehensivley. Ranging from telepathy and telekinesis to pyrokinesis and divination, a Psyker is a highly adaptable and valuable asset. Aurelia herself is a skilled biomancer and pyrokinetic, and a capable telepath and seer. Though tending to use the typical pyrokinetic and biomancy abilities in battle (conjuring fire/heat and lightning, healing small wounds, altering body chemistry, etc) she is quite capable of battlefield innovation Misc: Vox-inducer: An advanced bundle of circuitry set into Aurelia's throat to replace her ruined vocal chords. She's upgraded it, reducing the mechanical overtone the device adds, and aesthetically to take the form of the Imperial Aquila Imperial Aquila: The symbol of the Imperium of Man, taking the form of a twin-headed eagle, its wings widespread Mechanicus Forge World: A planet given over to the Priesthood of Mars for manufacturing purposes, generally of vehicles and weaponry. -------------------

And a character for NK's pretty nifty clan.
Name: Melissa Harbridge Race: Human, non-psychic Appearance: Melissa is rather short, coming up to just over five feet. Her hair, a pale brown colour, is tied back in twin ponytails, secured with plain ribbon, and she wears a pair of goggles up on her head for convenience. She tends to wear a long-sleeved, high-collared jacket, the sleeves flared slightly, allowing her hands to move freely. A pair of military-style high-boots accent her dark leggings, reaching up under a simple, pleated skirt, belted by a strip of leather adorned with many loops and pockets, holding her many tools and small parts for on-the-go repairs. Biography: Raised by her scavenger brother for a large majority of her life, Melissa quickly grew to adapt to his trade, becoming an excellent mechanic, complementing the local scavenger's "market" and further scraping a semblance of livelihood out of the junked remnants of the city. Kyle, being a clever scavenger with an eye for "the real goods", tended to haul back odd, but generally rather valuable, scrap, and, living up to his reputation, managed to spot a miniature plasma-reactor power cell whilst out one day. While hauling the thing back to home, he walked right into the middle of a patrol of Blank Faces, a stroke of misfortune the magnitude of which had never really struck before. This stroke of bad luck was compounded by the object in his arms, the volatile plasma battery. Struck by the directed gunfire, it ruptured, a violent fire of plasma bursting out of it, coaxing the Faces to retreat, but at a heavy toll on Kyle, all but destroying his body. Fortune seemed to shine on him once again, however, being found by a fellow scavenger and taken to a local medical facility, where he managed to recover, despite losing his legs, right arm, and left forearm, along with terrible burns across his torso and head. Melissa, not standing to lose the only family she had, commenced what she deemed as her most important work, construction of augmetics to return her beloved brother to functionality. Over the course of many months, she managed to build, out of parts painstakingly scavenged, or bought, or stolen, the augmetic limbs and other bionic parts needed; powerful legs, heavily plated and armoured, high-grade eyes to restore his sight, a tough, heavy-duty arm, (although lacking the little finger of the hand) and numerous modifications to his torso, repairing the damage done, and reinforcing his body for the heavy augmetics. Unable to get enough parts for a proper arm and hand for his left, she mounted a high-grade drill instead, promising to build him something more suitable as soon as she could. He remains mute, aside from a grating wheeze or groan upon occasion, another issue Melissa has promised to correct the moment she "figures out how the hell vocal augs are supposed to work". Kyle, resuming his scavenging work soon afterward, although not without Melissa tagging along "to keep him out of trouble". He remains as cheerful as ever, although, as expected, he has some difficulty expressing his good humour. He now towers over most (and certainly his sister) at an impressive seven feet, and wears a heavy carapace of armour covering him from chest to thigh, and shielding over his left shoulder and bicep, as well as a rebreather over his mouth. Seeking more advanced machinery and parts, Melissa managed to find, through the network of scavengers she had done business with, a group that called itself "Rosetta". Offering her services as a machinist (and those of her brother, an excellent scavenger and combatant), she was brought into the groups fold, placing herself right at the peak of influx for high-technology. ESP/Psychic Specialty: None Weapons: While she isn't a fighter, Melissa still carries an old revolver she managed to dig up and refurbish, a rather old model, with a blue-nickel finish and six-inch barrel, favouring the balanced recoil and stopping power offered over the other firearms she's scavenged. Kyle, on the other hand, carries a custom-built firearm composed of twin barrels and a large box-style magazine, the handlegrip and trigger made keeping his large hand in mind. Combat Style: Kyle is a decent boxer, and still retains his style utilising his long reach and heavy strikes, though his large bionic legs have slowed his footwork rather considerably. The drill mounted on to his left forearm makes his favoured hook all the more devastating, while his other bionic arm, fitted with an actual hand (despite a missing little finger), is more than capable of shattering bone. Personal Interests: Melissa is fond of all sorts of high technology, and generally has a sort of wide-eyed wonder if she should encounter anything she judges as very well-built or designed. She has a typical girl's love of small animals, rabbits in particular, and a mild curiousity in her brother's favoured game, something terribly old called 'Shogi'. -------------------
