The pirate bay, no longer piratey.

"Global Gaming Factory X AB, a Swedish firm that runs Internet cafes and game centers, plans to buy The Pirate Bay for 60 million kronor (~$8 million), twice the fine that was slapped on The Pirate Bay defendants by a Stockholm court earlier this year.

...the new owners plan to make it a legal service that allows "content providers and copyright owners [to] get paid for content that is downloaded via the site."

Yes, The Pirate Bay has been sold. And there maybe a chance that it's going to die. But, who cares? There's like a billion other torrent sites. >>

However, it has its fans... including me. Indeed I would always favour its site over others like Bitmon etc... Also I like Pirate ships! o.o

As for affecting the Online Torrents on the web... apart from few people moaning about it, it will not.

Truth. Although TPB got a lot of attention and generally had whatever anyone needed, private tracks are always going to be better because they encourage people to seed, instead of just leeching and deleting. The Pirate Bay fought the good fight though, and deserves respect. Rest in Peace, Pirate Bay.

FOOLS!

This is old news. Why must this thread be revived?
Yes, Demonoid is the best, luckily it didn't take me too long to find someone to send me an invite. Nevertheless this is an old topic, let it rest.
