If you're a new member here, I have a few questions...

When you joined, what kind of questions did you have? Do you know what all the stuff at the top of the forum (the network bar) is for? Do you still have any questions that we kind of left you wondering?

Well my first question was would they be accepting? Haha, well you guys have been an interesting bunch but you guys are very cool. I guess another was just how was the community? I see that you guys have known each other for a long time so I guess you guys are more personal than other forums.

I understand the bar for the most part. I mean the chat stuff and the sites bar for the most part.

Finally, I don't really have any questions left really. I didn't have many to begin with, besides those two really.

Don't know if that was in-depth enough for you, but I figured I should answer.

Same here.

Site navigation is actually quite easy.

Perhaps I'm lame... but I keep having trouble finding forum topics. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, though. ^^

Well, what makes them difficult to find? Are you talking finding topics you've already posted in or topics that are of interest to you?

The descriptions beneath each of the forums should be helpful to explaining what is kept there. And it's quite easy to remember by doing. So click through the site and explore each of the areas to get an idea of what topics are where.

I think everything is set up really well. It's easy to find stuff that I want to look at or talk about. You've also laid down your rules and expectations quite clearly. biggrin.gif

I just joined a day ago and I am trying to get used to the site. So far everyone here seems to be very friendly with one another which is good. I really like the easy surfing this site has to offer and have yet to know what any of the perks this site has to offer xD

My first response wasn't so much a question but a joyful expression of finally. You know, there really aren't that many websites that are hosting anime music specifically. I feel lucky I stumbled here, and as such I will definetely be helping to fill out your database happy.gif

You can check the queue and go ahead and add the two I uploaded so far ;-)

Yeah, I understand the options at the top of the bar btw.

See you around the site!

The OST system needs to be overhauled before that is possible. It was a quick hack job consisting of a few hours of work a while back, and we've been planning to update it. It's just that my plate is kind of full and I'm the only programmer.

I think it works pretty well, it's very easy to use and uploads at decent speeds. All you really have to do is maybe put a small section on the front page, that lists all the new uploaded albums, so people know what is uploaded and when. That would be a nice addition.

If your willing to teach me over weekends or something, I would very much like to learn programming and help you out with the site, but I can't help you out as I know nothing about programming as of now. :-(

All I can do is share my library with the site.

Well, the system works as barebones as possible. When you upload something, it just gets put into a folder that's named as your member ID number.

So, if you (your member # is 54494) uploaded the Code Geass OST...
54494/
...Code Geass/
......OST/
.........01 - Whatever.mp3
.........02 - I Like Ponies.mp3

And "publishing" is me logging into the server, and moving Code Geass to the main music folder like you would move files on your computer. Because it's so low tech, there's no code I can easily write to just know what were the last albums published were, because copying a folder isn't going to trigger anything.

Now, I don't want to do a hack job and bolt something on, because if I do get around to updating the system, that means that I have even more code to update/rewrite later on. Bolting things on has been something that has been done for many years now, and so things on KAF have gotten messier over time. Now, I'm no longer in high school, so it's not as easy to find random free time to write a ton of code.

There are books and tutorials on programming (and in particular, the PHP programming language), but it takes many months before you become fairly proficient at it to really use it (well). You could always start anyway though. Doesn't hurt to learn a new skill! Maybe you'll be sufficiently good enough in a few months too.

I would think about doing just that, seriously as well. But I am more into the art aspect of life. Also, I happened to graduate HS this year, and i'll be going to college in october and at the moment i am working to pay for some of it. I always preferred the direct approach so hey maybe one day in the future I can learn how to program.

As for just bolting the feature on the site, I understand completely. I guess that a major overhaul will have to wait until a kind soul who knows programming finds his way to this site.

As of now, I have ZIP questions. I've been lurking for a while with jigglyness's account so I guess I don't really count. I'm also no newbie to the system set by the Invision Power Board XDD Wehehehe~ I love the network bar~ it's really shiny and so useful so thank you for that!

Personally big forums like this kinda of confuse me... ^^; Though I was surprised by how quick and helpful the members were when I requested an album X3 I've been of forums before, and I get the general gist of things :3

By the way... I've been wondering about those Risa and Dark and With icons over there on the left... They're really cute! But are they like, for post count or gender or what? And where's Daisuke and Riku? ohmy.gif

They're just to show you what gender a member is here on the site. =D

And as for Daisuke and Riku, I have no clue. That's a question that remains to be answered by Sk. =P He's the one that put the little cuties there in the first place. x3

Because there was already a male and a female hmmsmiley.png

And yes... that would explain the icons and... other things.

Here are all the icons I saved from the original dnangel.tv site that has since gone down:

And since IBF asked, here are the .ico versions of Krad and Satoshi, respectively:
