I was just thinking. If Pokemon continues for another decade, Ash will be in his twenties.

Random thought.

They already changed his voice in the show, next he will grow a beard? o: They probably thought about that for Yugioh, they got rid of the originals and made new series types. You don't need an adult main character when they were like originally 10...

I wasn't aware that they changed his voice. I have to check youtube to hear it now.
Since they havn't been afraid to switch out the people around Ash, I wouldn't be surprised if they totally removed him from the picture. Of course, people in the Pokemon world might just magically not age...

Sailor moon began airing in 1995 in the USA. Pokemon was created in 1995 as a set of games, so the show probably began airing after that.

^That is all according to Wiki.

I also didn't know they had changed ashes voice in the show. To me it just sounded the same as always. But in some way, ash has grown up. I also wanted to point out that even though pokemon did come as games for gameboy before the *NEVER MIND*... hmmsmiley.png I actually think Sailor Moon was the first and original anime to come to the U.S.A . Though it still makes me ask myself did they come before Transformers or after?

Sailor Moon was not the first anime to air in the USA, I believe Astro Boy predates it. My parents watched it in Taiwan, for god's sake >_>

Ash should already be 20. The show has been on since the 90's.

I believe the first anime to air in the US was either Astro Boy or Gigantor. I don't recall which though, but it wouldn't be hard to find out.

Then in a decade he would be thirty. My mind only remembers that he was 10 when the franchise started, and has a tendency to forget that we're already late into the decade.

It seems Astro Boy was first. (1963 compared to 1966).

I was all ways under the impression that atro boy was the show that came after gigantor. I used to watch that show all the time. But now that i think about it ... when astro boy came out it really wasn't an anime was it?

Sailor Moon was my first anime. ;3; Too bad they messed it up big time with the dub. They didn't even dub Sailor Moon Stars! ;3;

Right after Sailor Moon it'd have to be... Inu-Yasha I think?

I think it would have been that ova/movie "Blue Submarine No.6", followed by whatever shows were airing on cartoon network around 2002.

The first anime I ever bought, was Rahxephon, after seeing the mecha from the show on the cover of Newtype Magazine. Had no idea what it was about, just LOVED the art on that magazine cover. Turned out to be my favorite anime. Dumb luck I guess.

Wasn't it 100 in the first ones?
I'm dead certain on that!
As certain as that ash is getting younger in each and every season...
He's like... That guy in the movie where he ages backwards... (forgot name)

Cheers!

I guess my first anime was, like others have said, the first Pokemon series with the original 150. The first show I really got into and connected with though has to be Bleach and it's still my fave

Black Star, you said you started watching with Shakugan No Shana ... so you started watching anime about 2007? So maybe you haven't seen Macross Plus? That was good stuff as well. I'm not big on the other Macross', but that arc was really good to me...

My first anime must be Dragonball Z or Escaflowne or Gundam Wing, I don't really remember which one it was because when I was younger they were all on tv at night and I watched them... I don't remember the story for Escaflowne or Gundam Wing like I do for DBZ. My first manga that Ive started reading is Black Cat.... I'm not really a big fan of manga tho.

I have to say that I'm a fan of the odder animes more than the new.

My first anime was the japanese version of InuYasha. I fell in love with that Anime! I just wish it was still on Adult Swim earlier than 5 in the morning.
