.......OKAY!!!!
DB,DBZ, and DBZ GT all as you know has Goku as the main character in all of them. I have seen every episode of all of the series and I even have all of the games... *well not anymore* Any way the series is over. There really isn't much to talk about but that as you know Goku saves the world from being taken over by King Piccolo in DB. In DBZ Goku has even harder battles to face. Including his son Gohan even gets to face cell. So they fight . Cell wanted to see Gohans full power. So he pushed him to the egde and that was the first time anyone saw Gohan turn Super Saiyan 2. Gohan defeated Cell and that was that. Next in DBZ Goku had to face the strongest prson he had ever faught. Majin Buu. Now Buu was a bit of a kid. But when he fights u better watch out. Buu has every one powers. Goku knew it would take more than just a SSJ or SSJ2 to beat Buu. So Goku decided to kick it up to SSJ3. *SSJ means Super Saiyan* in case u didn't know. Finally GOkan went up against super Buu and lost because he got absorbed. Finaly goku went up against Kid Buu the most powerfull person Goku almost lost against. If not for Vagetas help. I'll talk later about the GT saga. -------------------

I always thought the idea of cell was awesome. Buu was done quite differently than many other "Last enemies," and therefore loved that EVEN MORE! Goku is one of my favorite heros of all time, breaking mold that to be the worlds strongest does not take away compassion or humor.
The movie 'Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon," was very entertaining, but i thought it pretty much filled in a lot of gray areas. Anybody know of anything original that came out of it, maybe non-canon? -------------------

I always wanted to see DB, I hear its 10 times better when it comes to plot than DBZ. Original as in any new or different ideas the movie itself had that didn't match the Trunks saga it went with. I just saw the movie, but didn't finish that saga. -------------------

DB was a younger show. DBZ, imo, was made to age along with the crowd that would have enjoyed DB. As far as comparing them...there isn't much to compare I think. They both have good plots, but differ so much in the content. I own season 1 and 2 of DB, 1 through 7 of DBZ. Soon to be 8. Since I hadn't seen much of DBZ since it was last on TV (i'd rush home from work to see the Buu saga I only own odd volumes of DBZ:GT so after I get the last season of DBZ (eight) I will probably fill out my collection of GT and watch it too. Also watching Kai, as it comes out slowly overseas via dubs online. Oh my it looks amazing, curious to see how much more streamlined they really made it to match the manga. I am also about done collecting the manga. In fact, my wife is at the bookstore right now picking up #25, the second to last volume of the manga. It goes SO much faster. I see what happened to the Naruto anime is exactly what happened to DBZ, and just about any manga based long running series. You end up with a bunch of stuff that makes it drag on. Though, Naruto is far worse then DBZ at this. All in all its a great universe Akira Toriyama created. Once I finish up DBZ and GT i'll be kinda sad there isn't anything beyond Kai to collect after that. What I have seen of GT it was just a wild take on it all, and IIRC having little if any input from Akira Toriyama. One can always hope for more I guess. But, I can see with how much time he put into his work, he's probably more tired of it then the fans are, by a longshot. edit: Funny I notice this post the day after I wore my Picollo T-shirt and the day I'm wearing my Goku T-shirt This post has been edited by RahX on 2009-05-04, 04:53 PM -------------------

Oh you mean when he gave Trunks' his sword. Nah there isn't really any tie-in, most consider the end where it shows a grown up Trunks destroying Frieza is just another way of showing how he grew up in the movie. Plus in the special manga that tells the story of Future Trunks I believe it's hinted that Bulma made the sword(I don't really know for sure though) |

The best way to enjoy GT is to watch it with an open mind. Comparing it WITH GT wont help, imho. Its a bubble gum series, chew it once and forget it.
[Sorry, searched on how to do partial quotes but came up clueless.] I see what happened to the Naruto anime is exactly what happened to DBZ, and just about any manga based long running series. You end up with a bunch of stuff that makes it drag on. -RahX (Not meaning to change subject) You may or may not have meant it, but Berserk scans are up to 34 going strong and with no end in site. I agree completely, I'm saddened about the end of the DB universe. I'm sure we can all agree that is wasn't short lived though. It definitely helped give the US a booster shot of what Anime was all about. I know I'll get a tattoo of DBZ someday, but haven't decided on what... -------------------

Yeah...I lose interest in the Naruto anime pretty easily now. But the Naruto manga has become very fast-paced. I'm always itching for the next chapter. >>; I have heard that Kishimoto is trying to get it over with and wrap it up, but haven't researched and confirmed that myself. I remember being frustrated when I was younger with DBZ because the episodes barely made any progress in the storyline and it moved sooo slow. -------------------

I actually enjoyed the Freeza SSJ Goku fight. I just watched all of it last week.
Its more like the sagas that didnt exist AT ALL in the manga, like the garlic jr saga, which I don't care for. But I'll watch it anyway. Just delays the trunks and android parts a bit. -------------------

As a series alone I thught GT was cool, but compared to the other series' it just wasn't as good. To me it seems they just made it to please people who wanted more fighting |
