SOTW 55 Theme: ValentinesVoting Deadline: February 26th The sigs are arranged and numbered based on order of submission. Please explain your votes from an artistic/graphical point of view. Participants are allowed to vote but they may not vote for themselves. Avoid repeating or quoting previous voting reasonings. You must provide your own explanation. I would have to say sig #3. To me it just looks amazing. The black and white go great with the red of the rose. And it's just more appealing to the eye in my opinion. I wonder if i even did this right? |

#2 gmv. I like the fact that it's animated (something I don't see often in the SOTW competitions), and I enjoyed the *cough*gory*cough* humor incorporated into it. The coloring is really simplistic and basic, which I usually like, but perhaps if it were given more detail, it wouldn't have been as tight a race as it was; also, since it was animated, a think a border of some form or fashion would have made it look more contained and thus, appealing. I find the others to be really nice (especially 4, which I'd give an honorable mention to, seeing as how it nearly beat out my current choice), but laughter is what won my heart this time around. =D -------------------

#4 GMV. I love the shiny parts behind the girl and the subtlety of the purples and pinks in it. It isn't overwhelmingly lovey or pink like a lot of Valentine's things are. -------------------

#1 Looking good in oldschool style :] Good text placing :] #2 Funny :] But that pink theme with white heart makes me drowsy xp #3 A very simple looking design... but it looks steady and very eye applying :] Good one: ] #4 The blend looks great and smudge looks neatly done :] Too bad that pink heart kills the whole effect xp I vote goes for #3 |

I was going to go for #1 until my eyes clapped on #4. Total thought change. The fevering blast of pink really gave me romantic feeling. My vote goes #4.  -------------------

I really like number 3 but I, at first, did not consider voting for it because it's less "Valentine-ish" than the rest. However, what's the concept of Valentine for every one really? I think we all have our unique concepts of it. It may not have a heart as one would expect but it does give that feeling of "love." I vote for 3 because it's very well executed. Very nice quality and overall composition. -------------------

With a total of four out of a counted eight votes, the winner of SOTW 55 is IBF. (Two in a row, go me!) Thanks to everyone who submitted a sig and to those that took the time to vote this week.
