Same discussion as the one in anime except it's for manga. What is the best in your opinion? Please state why and how you found it.

Fruits Basket is my ultimate romance manga. I started reading it when I was working at Walden Books five years ago and I am STILL waiting for it to finish in the states. I don't want to read it online and ruin it, so I am waiting somewhat patiently for them to release the next volume.

I love the developing relationship with Tohru and Kyo. It makes me squee like crazy.

I really like Beast Master by Kyousuke Motomi. (And Dengeki Daisy, from what I've read of it.) Vampire Knight isn't going in a direction I like (I was a really big fan of Zero/Yuuki)...and Special A was one of the more hilarious ones I've read about =D

My personal favourite is this one called WJuliet by Emura I mean crossdressers may seem a little weird but it really is done well in this situation and you really get a connection with Mikoto and Itu.

I enjoy it anyway.

Another good one is Love Monster by Riko Miyagi Kurou is just too sexy not to squeal over

Although, this topic was like... days ago... 8D;;;

I can list a whole bunch.
- SA (Special A, definitely. It's hilarious.)
- Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden
- WJuliet
- You're My Girlfriend (Same artist as Special A. 8D )

I can list more... but I don't remember the names.
I love SA though. I recommend it to those who love Comedy/Romance manga. :]

My favourite romantic manga is Glass no Kamen by Suzue Miuchi... the series is still going on in Japan (it's being going on since the 1970's)...and in my opinion this is the perfect manga! the story is great, the artwork is awesome and the character are "real"! I love it!

I"s is my favorite "romance" series. It supplies a well rounded story with a set of characters that are interesting to read about. Second favorite would be Ichigo 100%. Ichigo 100% follows really close to I"s nearly being tied.

I love the story line for it.
The art is really nice and pretty.
Also, i love the growing love between Tohru and Kyo.
(but i feel sorry for Yuki.)
So cuteee~

I just think it's a really great series to reaaad,
I have to finish reading it though.

I also add
Ranma 1/2 to mine along side Moon Boy.

I liked Absolute Boyfriend. It also made me cry at some point.I loved that manga.
For some strange reason I liked Moe Kare too.Maybe because of Arata,he made the story pretty funny and unpredictable sometimes.

I dunno if anime-to-manga conversions count, but Air, Kanon, ef and Clannad were all pretty solid romance animes/mangas. As for series that were mangas to begin with, I don't have much experience so I can only vouch for Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha (and even then, I'd only recommend you read them if you like a liberal dose of action and/or comedy with your slice of romance).

Recently got into a manga called Mahoraba, and it ain't half bad either. It has its funny moments, but is also strangely poignant at times. And best of all, nearly every "secondary" character is fleshed out, so it doesn't seem like some cheap harem comic.

[I know this topic hasn't been posted in awhile, but given the lack of active topics I hope nobody minds if I bump this up with my post.]

Click above for some random junk. Thanks to someone for the Sig/avi set. Sorry, I've got too many of these things to effectively keep track of all their creators. ><

will i get in trouble for this? hmmm...

I read this ongoing series online called Mel Kano, its pretty interesting. I like it because it isn't very cliche and the characters seem and act like believable people (give or take a few habits). Its worth checking out

While I worked at a bookstore I tried to read as many manga as I could. Fruits Basket was one of them, but sadly I only got up to volume 20, since that's all that had. I found the entire zodiac mystery very interesting and am hoping I can pick myself up the entire set so I can read it again.

I also read Fall in Love Like a Comic. I think it only has two volumes, very short. I thought it was cute and all. I mean, it's a story of a mangaka who write romance stories herself and finds her own 'true love'. It was one manga I considered having in my collection, but sadly I couldn't get my hands on another copy.

So far, those are the only romance based manga I've read, but with all the ones I see on this forum so far, it looks like I've got some heavy reading to do.

Agreed with Fall In Love Like a Comic.

I also really like what I've read so far in Sand Chronicles. Of course, the main character keeps hurting the feelings of the boys close to her, but the romantic moments are really good. They're touching.

I was introduced to both series by Shojo Beat and got hooked. :]

Kare Kano! It's my favorite romance series. Funny, sweet...it's a good story, I think.
