It's because Jin can chain grab after using, well, any of his drives. They all freeze and if a Jin player has good enough timing, he or she can grab you before you wriggle out. It's dumb as hell but people will abuse it. As for Tager, they essentially took Potemkin's base character and made him more mobile via his special attacks and Drives, which I love. You can break his command grabs though, and that kind of hurts if timed right to interrupt a combo. I still think he's great, but I'm sure at high level play I'll get eaten alive by Noel Drive spammers. |

Yeah I haven't played too many skilled users online as of yet. Probably one good Jin user, but the rest just spammed his freeze and strong attack. That's my fault for falling for it, but I'm still getting the hang of things.
As for Tager, I don't know why I was saying Tagar..., his grab animations are really slow. So if at any point a person breaks away and you go for that grab, you can get owned pretty hard. Although, I must say, I haven't played too many people that were good as Tager online yet and they just like to spam his Spark Bolt and his charge move (can't recall its name right now.) -------------------

From what I've experienced so far, I've gone against a few decent players. I have seen a lot of the drive spamming Noel and freeze-crazy Jin players. ...Now I'm starting to understand why none of the characters like the Librarians. -------------------

The first Noel I faced disconnected before the match even started, causing the game to freeze. Eff him. -------------------

I just figured out how to use my Command Throw in the middle of her drive combos. Much big Soviet Damage was had by all. Also; new rule in effect, gentlemen. If you play Tager, you have to play him with GaoGaiGar colors. |

I'll stick with Smurf Tager, thank you.
Though I have started to lose my interest for this game already, Tager Buster (or whatever its real name is) is the most satisfying 360 grab in any fighter, in my honest opinion. B Tager Buster -> A Sledge -> followup -> Rebel Cancel -> 6C -> Spark Bolt -> 2C -> Collider Hot damn. -------------------

Hmm, it sounds like most of you went and bought the Limited Edition, right? I figured it would have been at least $80 for the limited edition, but when my boyfriend and I stopped at the local game store last night, we were both surprised. It's nice of Microsoft to make editions like that available at a regular game price. They should do that more often, too bad Arkham Asylum didn't get the same treatment. Although, you do get a 14'' Batarang with that edition. That's Heaven!!!
Anway, since he's been playing bits and pieces of this between work days, he hasn't really played enough to tell me his complete opinion yet, but from what I've seen, it looks darn cool! -------------------

I think you mean Aksys Systems, the developer, when you talk about the limited edition. It's multiplatform so the extras had nothing to do with one company or the other. <<
Still waiting to actually go out and get the game. We have the PS3 but my brother left it at his boy's house since we don't have an HD TV. |

I think we should get a KAF BlazBlue Youtube profile and upload BlazBlue videos of matches we had with other players/KAF Memebers. x: -------------------

Finally picked it up, now I just have to get to training. Dunno if I'll keep maining Tager though, I'm starting to have mixed feelings about how awful some of his match-ups are (Nu and Rachel, especially). I'd move over to Carl but I'm not confident enough in my ability to pump out damage with him yet.
Anyway, once I set up my PSN account, I'll post it here. |

About switching to Carl, I did the exact opposite.
I say stick with Tager. As bad as he is against others, he's still easy to use. Back dash and B Sledgehammer is a Jin tard's worst nightmare. ...Oh right, I don't play this anymore. -------------------

I do like him a lot. He's easy to pick up and generally awesome (DON'T DISS SCIENCE), but I'm just not as hyped about him as I used to be. Somewhere along the vids I scoured, I thought I'd play Litchi as well but she plays slow.
What I'm looking for is someone a bit more fun to play, I guess. I might go to Bang if anything. At least then I have mobility.

Litchi is slow? What?
If she catches you you're stuck in a decent combo for awhile WHICH YOU CAN'T DO JACK ABOUT unless you want to give up your Barrier. Of course they could always screw up. Anyways, I'm still maining as Ragna and so far the only troubles I've had are with some Litchi players, some smart Tager players, and some other generally better than me players. -------------------

Wow, that's interesting, Rais. Because, you know, it's the same for every character in the game. That's why they call it a combo, Rais. Because, you know, it chains one move into the other. I've heard they even have hit counters to show how many hits you do in a combo! My problem with Litchi is that she's an out fighter that doesn't operate like an out fighter. Notice how most of her moves are step in attacks--if you're at close range/jabbing distance, her C and B attacks will literally go right through you (when she has her staff). She can play a mean game of keep-away, and her 5A and 2A are decent enough pokes to keep pressure off, but I just don't like her play style. I like Carl but I can't confidently pump out damage with him. Using Nirvana and Carl in concert is just too foreign to me, and while I'm sure if I devoted enough time to him I could use him effectively, I don't know if it's worth the time. And then there's Bang, who I think is super-special-awesome. I might main him and Tager, at least they're fun (although Tager is easy-modo). |

Well I'm sorry for not knowing how to do the combo most Litchi users do since I don't play her. But honestly, she's capable of starting that combo easily on anyone. I mean I can guard plenty of the common combos but Litchi players have a larger arsenal to mix up with. =|
As for Carl. I haven't seen people use them at the same time if that's what you mean by in concert. What they do is simple you just have to remember that Nirvana is in this position and Carl is in this position. All they do is switch attacks. Nirvana's attacks have a start up time too. so during that start up time you keep up your attacks with Carl. =\ As for Bang, I have yet to run into someone who's awesome with him. But he is an awesome character to play with. But lately I haven't been using his Bang Install much. =/ -------------------

Anyone see Continuum Shift trailers? Hazama, and Tsubaki are being added, and Nu is being replaced by a new version. Also everyone has new Astral Finishers I believe. Looks sick, but a lot of characters are getting nerfed, and a few buffed. -------------------

Bound to happen. They're adding another two characters to the roster, most likely Mikoto (Squirrel Girl) and Jubei or Kokonoe. As for the nerfing, they're still doing local tests on the game so we'll see how it turns out. But some characters really need to be nerfed (Nu, Arakune), and some others scaled back (Ragna and his "I can hit you with anything because my attack hitbox is the size of Tager and cancel any drive attack for easy-modo combos, and Jin's freaking Ice-car). Still, some of what I've been hearing doesn't sound too good. All I want is a solid anti-air for Tager and some faster solo/Nirvana attacks for Carl (I know he can loop, and that's nice and all, but you know they're gonna patch that and then give him nothing else). Maybe touch up Rachel so she isn't so reliant on her Drive to do significant damage. Aesthetically some of the touch ups are nice, and stocking Bursts, which you can do if you lose a round, is a nice addition. Having a super bar that rolls over is really nice--the game is shaping up to be more and more like Guilty Gear. This pleases me. |
