Been thinking of starting up a RO Server but as everyone knows it no fun inless you have people playing it. So was woundering if there there be any user base from KAF that would want to play on a Private Server for KAF members only.

Use to play this when it was in Open Beta and for awhile when it went P2P its not a bad game low PC Req so just about anyone should be able to play it.

Little How To so you can join us and play.

Start off with these files here.

kRO Client (50megs x25 Files)
SAK kRO Client (50megs x 21 Files)
Updated kafRO.rar 3-31-08. (Max Chars uped to 9) and Client.xml has been fixed.
kafRO + Translation Files (10Megs x 1 File)

Once you installed kRO install SAK RO. After you get them both installed unzip the kafRO useing WinRar to a folder and then move it to your kRO folder (Defult should be c:/program files/gravity/RO) Lease it was for me.. There is 1 file and 1 folder in the kafRO.rar file. Move them both to the RO dir it will ask if you want to over right sakexe.exe say yes.

Once done should be done. Start up the game useing sakexe.exe that you find in the RO folder.

On the login screen type in your username you would like to have. followed by _F or _M for male or female chars. Then what ever password you want. Once that is done the next time you log in just use the username that you chose without the _F or _M.

Example: First Time Login
login = ChosenOne_M
pass = tempnoway

Would make my Chars Male. Then next time I login you would just use.

Example: Returning Vist
login =ChosenOne
pass = tempnoway

Any questions plz just post them here I guess for now.. Maybe if this takes off I can talk SK into giveing us our own threed or something.

Yeah I was in the open beta too, but I don't think I'll be playing. I have to have a cause to play MMO's and I'm already half commited to one as it is. That and I don't like MMO's a whole lot.

Well just an idea for now the private server will be free so don't have to worry about paying or nothing.

So far I have gotten my hands on the server software just trying to find a reliable place to get the correct client files and stuff that are needed to be able to play.

So far only place i been able to find the files is thro RapidShare witch stucks badly lol. Once i do get the client files and stuff probley have to setup some kind of tor-rent or something for it so the users of Kaf can have a little easyer time of getting there hands on whats needed to play.

So need to figure out how to make the client file easy to install for the people that arnt comfterable editng files and stuff. And then how to serve up a file thats a little over 1 gig in size to every one so they can join.

Ok so instead of double posting sense no one has added another comment yet.. Heres an update.

Found a decent place that is hosting the two main Client Files and they have decent speed at lease to me getting avrage of 500k/sec down load. How ever the Main Client is broken up into 25 50meg files. And the Other one is broken up into 21 50meg files.

Here are the links to the main two files that are needed. To get people started as i find the other req files that are needed I will post them as well.

You will need both of these to get started. These are the two big main files needed. Took me about 2 min per file to down load these maybe little less so your looking at around 1hr 30min for all 46 files if you can get the same speed I was getting.

I suggest using FireFox with the addon DownThemAll! to get them. So you can just Q them all up and walk away or do other stuff.

Ok server is up but untested I can connect fine but I'm on the same network lol. So Who ever can get the two main clint files down load and installed and the file I'm about to post installed will get to help me test out the server for other connections sense I cant get Tatter to help me becuse he is being Evil to me lately.

why not just upload it through megaupload?

edit; just wondering what the rates would be, any idea on that yet?

edit2; for the people having trouble down loading both clients; you can play RO by using Sakray (you should be able to find a good rag_setup1213 somewhere with ease, don't forget to patch it!) only in combination with the RagLite files, contact me if you need those, I'll have to look them up.

Rates right now are just normal ones. Tho I might change them just haven't desided to what yet.

The Links i posted where good when I posted them the host was desent fast only down side was they where broken up into so many files..

They are the 1213 Client. If you just down load the ones i posted and added the kafRO info from the rar file i posted you should be able to join right away.

Install this first.
kRO 1213 Client (50megs x 25 Files)
Install this second.
SAK 1213 (50megs x 21Files)
UnRar and copy to "c:/program files/Gravity/RO" long as you used defult install path.

Yes you have to use the sakexe.exe file that is in the kafRO.rar file. extract the contents of kafRO.rar to your install dir. (Defult install should be c:/program files/Gravity/RO/ unzip them there or some place else and move them to that folder..

Seams the server was down didn't realize it either power might of went out while i was sleeping. But should be back up and runing now.

May i ask if this is a PK server? and if it is make it a HR PK server as they are way more fun!

Not a PK server don't really know how to make it a PK server at this moment tho it has BG and stuff on it i beleave.

Well if i was do that it would take forever pretty much.. Its a little over 2gigs total for all files.. ruffly and i don't know any sites that allow that big of a file that is free and fast down loading. Tho I do have a decent upload it still take me a good bit to upload such a file..

Are you able to see the kafRO server when you start up the game? If not make sure that the kafRO.rar you extracted is in the right place. If you do see it and you have it in the right place then goto "c:/Program Files/Gravity/RO/Data/" (Asumeing you used defult install path.) and look for a file called "sclientinfo.xml" and open it with notepad should look like this.



And then the line that says <address> to http://chobits.sytes.net or just copy and paste the code below into it and save and try agin.


If this don't work let me know and might have to just use my IP but don't want to give that out tell all other options have been tryed. Lol

I've been running RO servers for 3 years, I know what I'm doing

Might as well try to do a fresh install without patching...

edit; dumped your ip in the sclient.xml and now I can get past the account server (yay) but still not to the character server... Still working to find out what's causing it

edit2; firewall isn't blocking a thing, signals seem to get through, I don't know what's the problem anymore. Just wondering, is it eAthena you're running? And I'm the only one with this problem, am I? I blame my inet..

edit3; and just for your info; giving the url equals giving your ip and adding http:// will work fine for websites but won't have any effect on RO clients

edit4; tried clients back to the 2007_10_02 and none worked, is your characterserver properly up, linked and running?

yep, unless you have Korean language packs installed in your OS

And that's a really classic sprite error... which means you're missing resources.

first; use Ragnarok.exe to patch up
second; use Sakray.exe to patch up

they are finished when the three buttons at the bottom are all lit up and the text displays ???? ???? ???? - don't run both at the same time.

that should solve that problem... as for me, I can't even connect

Edit 2: Patchup_AD is freezing at 2005-07-12aRageexeAD.rgz, is it just a big file or is something wrong?
