Today, in this arena of champions, we present to you now the epic battle between the Champions Sakon and Ukon, Inuyasha's BAMF Friend, and Tater-kun.

This will be a two-part battle. Each competitor will submit a sig they have previously made, then another topic will be made with new sigs they have made.

Honestly I'm gonna have to go with IBF's sig. Even if this was an anonymous commpetition I'd still go with IBF's. The text is awesome, the stock jumps out at ya, I love that one shining tear, the lighting is awesome, and it flows perfectly. My 2nd choice would be Sakon's. I like how colorful it is, and the blending is awesome. Close behind is Tater because I love that rusty look with the splatter brushes and the scratches. it's awesome. Great Job to all 3 of you It was a hard choice. Good luck to you all in the rest of the competition

Man. This is a hard one.

Sorry S&A, but I don't feel it. Normally I'm a sucker for women sigs, but...just doesn't hit me like the others.

The face of taters mixed with the apple-kun logo, its very fun and reminds me of about anytime I get going on my rollerblades and see a part in front of me I want to jump/ramp/crash whatever. Incites a feeling to make your face light up...

IBF's choice of image is pretty powerful. That desperate last grasp at...whatever.

*mentally debates with a background of dark lighting mixed with thunder and lightening outside*

I'm gonna have to go IBF, I guess I can attribute it to something more powerful about the image, not really the layout colors or anything. The expression used, was probably the final blow.

Following IBF from the SOTW topic...

I think I see why he wanted votes. While all three are good sigs, his is the only one I look at and actually feel very strongly about. I've really appreciated it for as long as I've seen it, and am glad for the opportunity to comment on it.

IBF's is emotively clear even though it's also the only one I don't know even what series it's from. There's a tragic feel to it, with expression in the eyes and the first person perspective on the outstretched hand that puts you as the viewer in the position as the person just out of reach who she desperately hoped would save her. The look of shock and loss in the eyes is more than just fear for her own life, which strongly implies that the person whose eyes the viewer is looking through is someone she cares about, perhaps even loves, and whom she feels returns those feelings. It's not as beautiful as Sakon's, but it draws the viewer into a very rich and developed scene beyond the image itself by IBF's choice of source image.

I think the facial expression and how well the outstretched hand is done are key to this. Were it done in the lighter style of, say, Ranma, with a sweatdrop and a circle-shaped mouth, I would caption it something like "kersplat" and laugh about it. With the way it's handled in this image, though, I actually feel a little sad looking at it, almost like a memory of someone important that was lost tragically.

Zero's Reason: Just love the way it flows, love the rusty colors, goes great with the stock, not to mention FLCL is just epic win by itself, Tater made a great sig and he GMV.

Man I'm getting owned. Poor choice of picture for me, because nobodies said anything about the composition. ._. I just noticed, I'm on a school computer btw, if you can't see anything on the left side of the sig, there is supposed to be.

I like Sakons blending in the image.The whole bright right corner and dark on the other side is awesome. I like the colors she picked for the sig. It is like a neon theme that just jumps out at ya. I also like how the hair in hers kinda blends in with the colors as if there was no differentiation between the sig and the character. In a close second is IBF's sig. I like how his was a much darker theme. The whole damsel in distress thing was cool. I liked how the whole sig flows together quite nicely. I also enjoyed the font, the font was a perfect match for this sig it all just flowed together. SO in conclusion Sakon GMV!

IBF GMV cuz I love the flow of the sig.
The lighting is good and I think the text is too.
I love how it looks as if she's reaching out to grab someone's hand.
The sig is very eye-catching nicely put together. XD great job.

His sig has the best overall content. The sig is balanced left and right. I don't really like the small text (too small). The color is great, giving me the sad/blue feeling, just how the character portrays in her face.

Sakon's piece... I really don't like the color. Too much contrast is going on for me personally.

Tater's piece... I'm not fond of the lighting. It's less balanced than IBF's sig (balanced, but not as well as IBF's).

IBF won part one with 5 out of 7 votes.
