and what is optional, any other thing you want to add

Stuff: Enjoy the song since I grew up listening to it

Song: Zebra
Artist: John Butler Trio
Album: Sunrise Over Sea

Why I like it: Aside from the fact that the song is a great piece of music, something to be mentioned are the parts when he (John Butler) sings "I-i" instead of "I" as if he would stutter. It sounds awesome and perfectly fits into the relaxed reggae-like sound of the song.

Favourite lyric: "I can be anything I put my mind to boy,
All I gotta do is give myself a half a chance.
I could bring love back into my life.
Share it with the world if I got some balance."

Stuff: I like to wonder how the song got its name. There should be a line like "I could be a zebra..." but there is none... happy.gif

Song: Over the Rainbow
Artist: The TRAX
Song length: 3:45
Language: Korean
Versions: Two, rock and guitar
Why I like it: I really like the song, because when you hear the lyrics I always think of Naruto and Sasuke, oddly enough.

[Lyrics translation]:
Do you know why the rain comes?
It comes because someone is praying
Praying to erase all your sadness
And comfort you
It seems as though I've known you
....Since I was very young
After I met you
I stood in day break's falling rain to help you
I was the one who believe in you

When the rain comes, think of me
Will that give you strength?
I've left and my trace is OVER THE RAINBOW

Sorry x11
Ever since too young an age
I thought I was already dirty
When I disappear
From this world
So deep into the ground and very bright
If I become dirty (I'm afraid you will too)
Because you will try and follow me, like you always do

When the rain comes, think of me
Will that give you strength?
I've left and my trace is OVER THE RAINBOW

When the rain comes, I pray
When I see the rain, I pray x2
I'm sorry....
Don't throw me away
I'll be waiting

Do you know why the rain comes?
It comes because someone is praying
Praying to erase all your sadness
So that I can comfot you
I'll become your rain

Song: Narcotic
Band: Liquido
Album: Liquido (1999)
(The song was released as a single in 1998)

Why I like it: For me the song represents a feeling of life, friendship and love. When I listen to it so many good memories come up. Its probably my favourite song of all time.

Favourite lyric:
And I touched your face
Narcotic mind from lazed Mary-Jane
And I called your name
Like an addicted to cocaine calls for the stuff he'd rather blame
And I touched your face
Narcotic mind from lazed Mary-Jane
And I called your name
-My cocaine

Stuff: AAAAAH I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!

Artist: Rika Matsumoto
Album: Every other Pokemon OST, trust me. DX
Why you like it: It is just such a fun song, and it just oozes classic Pokemon.
Favorite Lyric:

"(I'll get you, Pokemon!)

For example, in fire, in water, in grass, in forests
in earth, in clouds, in that girl's skirt (eek!)"

Song: Smiling like a Killer
Band: Motrhead
Album: Inferno

Why I like it: It's just bad a**. Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister has a pretty much unique voice. Although it needs to get used to there are a few songs which are made for just this voice. IMO the best examples are "Smiling like a Killer" and, of course "The Ace of Spades". Rock with balls!

Favourite lyric: "I'm the razor at your throat, in your fever dreams,
I'm the one to get your goat, nothing's what it seems,
Freeze your smile, stop your heart, creep and crawl and slither,
Come to you and make your mark,
Smiling Like A Killer"

Song: Impossible > I'm Not Alone > Contentment blues (jam)
Artist: Widespread Panic
Album: No album, live set
Why I like it, great theme with the overall feel of the songs. Played great. Audio quality on this live recording is a bit poor, as its not an album release, just a taper.

Fav Lyric:
(divided by jam)

From Impossible: I'm standing here in the kitchen
Wonder if I'm hungry at all
Right there, open the icebox
Wonder if I can eat it all

My eyes can't see through this metal door
Mouth just ate an hour before
Stomach can't remember what food is for
Haven't listened to my belly in a year or more

And my fav part, from "I'm Not Alone"
Now, as you can see
This clearly isn't me
I'm not alone, I'm just blue
I'm not alone

and finally, the finale of "Contentment Blues"
You don't need to pay a dollar for your dues
If all you're planning on playing are Contentment Blues
I've got no hard-lipped woman
Nagging at who I should be
I see blues rounding the corner
Not turning for someone like me
I got a box of fried on the bench beside me
Enough chicken for one's man's needs
Life's been getting a bit breezy lately
Been swinging from tree to breeze
No place you gotta be
Keep your head in the leaves
The air smells sweet up here
The chicken tastes good
I love my chicken
I love my chicken in a tree

Why you like it: It's kinda slow and fast at the same time, I mostly like to sing the song to myself when I listen to it.
Favorite Lyric:
"How many Fates should I accept?"

Song: The Anthem
Artist: Good Charlotte
Album: The Young and the Hopeless
Favorite Lyric:

And my high school
It felt more to me
Like a jail cell,
A penitentiary
My time spent there, it only made me see

That I don't ever wanna be like you
I don't wanna do the things you do
I'm never gonna hear the words you say
And I don't ever wanna,
I don't ever wanna be

You
Don't wanna be just like you
What I'm sayin' is
This is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
You
Don't wanna be you

Song: Sail
Artist: Armin van Buuren
Album: State of Trance 2006
Why you like it: Being the avid techno-trance fan that I am, I was surprised when I learned that Armin was awarded as the top ranked DJ this year instead of DJ Tiesto, and after listening to this deeply immersing song, I instantly knew why. It's that good.
Favorite Lyric: No lyrics in the trance genre for the most part, just the beats. Beautiful beats. >>'

Song: A Moment Forever
Artist: Volbeat
Album: Rock the Rebell / Metal the Devil

Why I Like it: I can't really explain. The song is awesome, that's why I like it. tongue.gif

Favourite Lyric:
See all the livers walk hand in hand in the park
and hide all the action
once couple are frozen and bondage forever more
with chains around the ankles
standing like statues, so lucky to see them here
and feeling their presence
their love for each other was taking away by force
for ages and ages

Song: Te Busqu
Artist: Nelly Furtado
Album: Loose
Why you like it: It has really cool music, and I like the lyrics. Even the ones I can't understand.
Favorite Lyric:

Te busqu
Debajo de las piedras y no te encontr
En la maana fra y en la noche
Te busqu, hasta enloquecer

Pero tu llegaste a mi vida como una luz
Sanando las heridas de mi corazn
Y haciendome sentir vivo otra vez

Why you like it: When I first listened to the radio edit of this song a few weeks back, I thought it was pretty good-- working at a hectic place as I do, the beats were enough to kick my nerves back in the vibe of things. Imagine my surprise when I got ahold of the full version- oh JOY. The female voice over the steady rhythm makes it all the more special for me. Definitely recommended~

Song: Get Even
Artist: Angelspit
Album: Krankhaus
Why I like it: I happen to be a big fan of fast, angry, distorted songs. And this one fits in there quite well.
Favorite lyrics:
Dance of darkness beats
Spent words misconstrued
Under dermis seethes
Entertainment for the few
Mouth loaded with a gun
Trap door with vocal chords
God puppet beats a drum
Entertainment for the bored
Zombie doll with wings
Feasting on rot
Evil siren sings
cast the fat lot
Vulture rip away
Scavenging parasite
Full blown soul decay
Under the silver knife
