The first one and the last one look the best. As you're just starting out, you're sure to encounter problems... but that's what we're all here for! One of you biggest problems is that some of your renders (pictures) are stretched and squashed to fit the piece. That's a bad idea. If you're using photoshop, all you have to to is press control+T, then, while holding shift, resize the render. I recommend reading some basic beginner tutorials. There are some decent ones here on KAF. Keep working at it. You've got potential! -------------------

These are pretty good. I have to say the foul language one is my favorite. >-> One tip I received awhile back was, not to use big sizes. Big sizes don't mean better signatures, since I noticed that all the signatures except the BioShock one, and vertical, have been pretty big. But keep working on it. Oh! Another tip, save the signatures as .png if you can. I can see from just looking at these that they are in .jpg format. But keep up the good work, these were good. -------------------

^ indeed, try and cut down the size. My personal favorite size is 400x135. I also think that you should learn about the magical world of saturation! The best example I can give of over-saturation is your third piece. Saturation, if you don't know, is the easiest thing to over use. It comes mostly from using to many layers with the settings of; 1. Overlay 2. Soft light 3. Hard light 4. Vivid light 5. Linear light 6. Pin light 7. Hard mix 8. Color burn 9. Linear burn 10. Color dodge 11. Linear dodge As you can tell it is quite easy to oversaturate, however saturation is also the key to blending a render with the background. My prime example is probably the most widely used photoshop technique, which is to use a gaussian blur on a duplicate of your render, and then put it on one of the above layer settings. This can greatly help blending, or if overused, can ruin the piece. -------------------

The text effect you used on this one sucks greatly... There are many other things you could do to make it better :] Go and see basic text tutorials or wait for some1 more creative who will tell which effect you could use to improve it :] You could try also smooth out the character render so the stroke would look much smoother The rest is well done :] I see you improved a lot :] |

^ Well I don't really agree with you Gohan, you are right about one thing. Tutorials. My advice, is to go the tutorials section, find the tutorials for Uki's "basic smudging" tutorial. Then implement the whole tutorial if you can, However the part I want you to see is the part where he makes a black layer over the entire piece. He then proceeds to select an area of the piece, and erases it over his stock. Then he puts it on overlay (Or maybe soft light. I cant remember.) Either way, this will allow you to erase unneeded background junk while still focusing on the piece. Check out the tut, its very good. -------------------

Well at least you're improving. I don't think you grasp the concept of C4D yet so stay away from that until you're a bit more experienced. The text is icky since the outer glow doesn't blend nor does it fit. I don't recommend using blending options on text since it makes the text stick out when, really, it should blend. Which brings me to my next point, the stock doesn't blend at all. You should really practice smudging techniques. I assure you that it will help your blending. I hope that helps you out. Keep trying~! |

Well it is a bit oversaturated, but looking at the original stock, it was pretty saturated before you did anything. I think you should also try and reduce the smudging a little, so that you have a good background for you piece. Bug Anorudo into talking to you about it. However i still see good improvment in many fields. -------------------

I'll definitely check that out for when I do my next smuge sig. Here's a batch of sigs I created in the last few days durring school: ![]() ^I love this version so much better than the first, plus I can put this one on KAF without going over the sig limit size. X3 ![]() ^1/3 of Speed's Rena-chan sigs that I owe him. I think I overdid it with the blending and the adjusting the highlights of the background. DX ![]() ^This one is for one of my best friends who's birthday is coming up soon, so I made her and Itachi sig, because she's a well.... Itachi maniac. I had problems doing this one for some reason, and I don't really like the way it came out either.... ![]() ^I had found this really nice hi-def pic of Son goku from Saiyuki, and I just couldn't resist. Again with the brightness, and abstract brushes. I feel pretty good about how this came out though.. I guess. Constructive crit appreciated please! -------------------

Go fifty-percent, twenty-five percent, and if big enough 12.5 percent. Don't resize images yourself. It gets messy and disproportional. -------------------
