Well, first off, I must say, they all suck, not saying I could do any better though. Now, my vote goes to number 2. It fits most with the theme IMO. The planet and what seems to be a comet or asteroid(?) just kind of stick out and ruin the flow though. Number one might've got my vote if it had not been for .jpg.... Here's a good starfield... ![]() ![]() ![]() made using this tututorial http://www.webdesign.org/web/photoshop/art...field.3811.html @3: Why does the earth have rings....? #3 GMV. I mainly like the style in this one. I can also see references to the movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey. It fits the theme quite nicely I must say. And I don't think that's Earth in the background by the way. lol -------------------

#3 gmv. The tape looks cool and the planet in the background tops it off. :I This post has been edited by Anorudo on 2007-08-12, 07:35 AM |

Okay then before I cast my vote I would like to give my opinion on the pieces. 1. I am pretty sure I have seen this before somewhere, but maybe I could be wrong... either way, It shows a rather odd solar system, or some kind of sun, or star giving off light. I don't think that this one displays quite as much skill as some of the others. 2. This is one of the better pieces entered this time. Although It still kinda feels as though the planet was kinda just cut-and-pasted into the picture, and that the background was just another stock that you used, which is fine, but the lack of effects used keep it from really blending. 3. Alright this one is also quite good. it is pretty well blended, and because the stock usually wouldn't have fit in the piece, the tape effect gives it a nice feel. With that said, I really think the quality of the piece would rise greatly if you had used a better planetary surface than the one you used. 4. Because I can tell this is an abstract repersentation of the theme, It shows no actual stars or planets, while this is fine, I prefer to see the theme obviously shown in the piece. 5. Okay well this is where I draw the line. I can see NOTHING that has to do with the theme, other than the badly placed star brushing. Anyway I think I will give my vote to #3. -------------------

Numbah 2 GMV. I like number two alot because of how the theme is portrayed. I feel it could use more blending, but I feel mostly attracted to this one. The planet is nice but it could've done without the comet and bright light in the upper left corner. The text could use some work too. But overall I feel it was a good try. ^^ -------------------

#3 GMV I like this one. It's of a better quality then most of the others, and it fits the theme while adding an original take on it (the tape and Curious George stuff just makes it feel almost, I don't know, cozy). I do have to agree with Blindo, however, that the planetary surface could have been better, it's just doesn't blend well with the background (the Martian surface does not make a good moon). -------------------

I put my vote on number 2. Number 1 right-off-bat has bad quality; it explains why its only 7.64 KB. The eminence of the signature is low; it looks like there was no attempt it in and its looks too basic. >_>; Now number two goes perfectly fine with the theme, the explicit of it is great and this one looks like there was essentially effort in it. Thats explaining why it should win SOTW. Not a lot of persuasion, but still. O.<; Number 3 should win for second place because theres also no problem with this one. I didnt choose this one because in my point of view, its just amusing and just a bit to juvenile for it to win the Space theme. Its cute, dont get me wrong but I still feel as those this shouldnt win. xP Number 4 noticeably have nothing to do with the theme. I akin to this signature but this dosent belong here. The colors are superb and the render just streams and fits great, but it wont win because it utterly has nothing to do with space. ._. Now lastly Number 5, goes the same for Number 1 and Number 4. This work looks rushed through as no effort in it, Its a girl dyed in blue aaannnddd this is what space will look like? No. The quality is repulsive and has more KB then Number One and still dosent look good as what it should be looking. =P I hope no transgression was taken, and this is my first time voting and Number 2 should win. Good luck~ -------------------

#2 gets mine. It gives a more serious and mysterious look at the concept of space to me. Number three is super cute and I love it. But number three fits more simply because of the feeling it gives. I'm new to the whole SOTW scene, obviously. -------------------

#3 GMV Fantasy space is just awesome. x3 The tape gives it a really good look as well. If the background was more cartoony it would have been a little better. |
