an anime taking place throughout japans history following the unarmed "mutsu" clan. this anime is filled with japanese historical figures like miyamoto musashi, jubei yagyu, as well as hijikate Touzou who you might know from "peace maker" this anime takes place in japan through all of the major era's. as I have said before major historical figures show up in this anime wich makes it very fun to watch if you know who they are. it all starts off with a man from the mutsu clan. he along with all of the other mutsu throughout this anime fight with no weapon and pretty much beat the crap out of anyone with one. unfortunately theres not much difference with any of the mutsu. (almost at all) yes they look and act the same however this does not take away from the anime as a whole. still fun to watch and very entertaining. its more like a bunch of movies put into a boxset. you don't have to watch 4 before u watch 5 because its almost like the whole story changes inbetween dvd's. however that is not a downer. it is still a good anime and deserves a 3.5 out of 5 |

I'm sorry if this is bringing up an old topic, but I just finished watching Shura No Toki (well I have 1 ep left!) and I agree that its great! For those of you out there that like anime such as Rurouni Kenshin, you'll like this one! At first I found it a little confusing, since within 4 episodes they skip like 20 years, but then I realised whats going on. You actually see three generations of the Mutsu clan and whats happening in the era that theyre in. Each mutsu looks extremely similar, but there are slight differences that you'll notice! The first generation of mutsu deals with Musashi, the second with Jubei and the third with Hijikate as well as Sakamoto Ryoma. However, the style of Mustu and the practitioners stay almost the same, determined and unbeaten in battle. I'd give it about 3.9/5! -------------------

Lol, yep, I agree, it's a fun anime to watch. Especially just for the fights. A friend recommended it to me before, and I watched it a while ago. The story isn't too deep, so it's a good one to pick up and just watch. The drawback is that this one is somewhat hard to find. The torrents don't seed them that well and it'll take a while to download. I'd give this one a 8/10. -------------------

lol, just finished watching it and I think I'll bump my score for it up to 4.3/5! I think you can get the first four episodes in english dub, but the rest are all subs, though I think the subs are just as good (or maybe a bit better!) I looked in veoh for the episodes and found them all there, its quick as it didnt take long to stream at all, you just watch it as soon as you click! There are probably other sites too with this anime, though this was the quickest one I could find at the time! -------------------
