I think I was on topic in my previous comment.

And I would like to point out that this is a Member's Biography topic, so it would have been all right to have shared your childhood with the club if you wished. smile.gif

Question :How was everyone's valentines day?? What did you do?

I ate this korean noodle dish called jjajangmyung that singles traditionally eat on couple holidays. It's kind of depressing, but I was with my friends. biggrin.gif

Meh... My Valentine's day went ok. I really can't complain. Just bought a lot of chocolates which will probably end up increasing my risk of Diabetes. rolleyes.gif And I ate out with my friends, too. Funny.. Easter will be better, though. Mmm.. Peeps, chocolate bunies... I'll have you know I have an out of control sweet-tooth- consider yourself warned, lol.

How did yours go, exactly? What do you mean depressing? Being single? Don't you worry about that. It'll come easy once you begin college. smile.gif

I like a lot of foreign dishes. My favorite food is Ramen, as a matter of fact! blink.gif Odd, I know. So.. What does this jjajangmyung taste like? I'm curious to know.

Dragons in childhood: smile.gif In short, I really liked dragons (and Unicorns, etc.), it all started with the fantasy movies, and the mythology, etc. And I still do... I just, you know, don't believe in 'em anymore. Not entirely, anyway. wink.gif

Um... Some questions? scratchchin.gif Erm... If you could be a character in Ranma 1/2 who would you be? Is that alerady a topic? Meh.. I don't have time to read it now, So... wink.gif

jjajangmyun tastes good... there's no taste like it! Its outer appearance might deceive you though because it's a very deep, rich shade of brown, and it's quite messy to eat. It's nothing like any other kind of food - it has its own distinctive sweet taste that I can't describe smile.gif You should try some one day... at a korean market/restaurant or wherever they have it.

If i could be a character, i'd be Akane and make my moves on Ranma and end up happily ever after with a dragon as a friend.. =_=.gif hahaa.

I meant that I was depressed valentine's day because I was outwardly admitting my single..ness. By eating jjajangmyun on that day is tradtionally known to be a confession of singlehood. I wasn't REALLY depressed heh.gif ahahaha and I"m sure boys wiill be ALLL OVER ME in college. HAH just kidding! >.,<;;;;; I really am!

Don't feel bad, Hana-chan. Valentine's Day is "Single's Awareness Day" whether you're single or divorced. Of course, Valentine's never really did anything for me anyway; I'm not all that romantic most of the time.

What did I do? Well, work was closed due to the snowstorm that hit the northeast, so I did laundry, cleaned my place, and had dinner with my parents. Real romantic, ain't it? deadtongue.gif

tongue.gif *hums childish tune of mockery* HAHA HAHA HA HA... No, I'm lying. That sounds nice that you ate dinner with your parents, escpecially at your age (no insult, really, there are guys in my classes who don't even visit there folks, and that's at my age).

Haha.. Yep. Like I said, I just had a GNO, if you will, watched Titanic and sat around eating candy like a 7 yr. old. laugh.gif

And Hana-chan, Scootie's right; You don't have to feel bad that you are admitting you're single! Point in fact, showing you are single will tell the guys to head right over there --->! *points to sour_hana* Don't you suppose that's a good thing, becoming a otoko-magnet? smile.gif

Of course, it could have been worse. I could have been sitting around, gorging myself on chocolates, while watching Titanic. crybaby.gif And I only watch it, because, at the tender age of 10, I was bit bit by the Titanic Bug. It's a disease that affects certain members of the population, infecting them with this desire to learn all they can about the greatest maritime tragedy of all time. So yes, I've read A Night to Remember and The Night Lives On, by Walter Lord, Raise the Titanic, by Clive Cussler, own a copy of the James Cameron Movie, and heck, I've even played the board game and built a model of her.

And yes, I'll admit that Titanic is one of those movies I can't watch without crying. And it's not because of the love story, it's because of the preventable loss of 1500 souls that night in April 95 years ago.

Didn't I just reply to your post, yesterday? blink.gif Huh. My computer is really acting up. This week, early yesterday, I couldn't even access Keiici Anime Forever!!!! crying.gif Oh, well... Whatever...

And the same thing happened to me, when I was like, 8, all my little friends saw Titanic, and I didn't and I wondered why they got to see it at such an early age. And then when I was 12 I was flipping channels and I watched it. And I agree, The fictional section of the story moved me little. It was the fact that so may people lost their lives, and all because "the Un-sinkable RMS Titanic's" propellors were, in fact, way, way too small!! ohmy.gif And it was called "the Un-sinkable", but remember how fast it shot down into the ocean?? In about an hour, Right? 12:45-2:20?

Question: What's your favorite movie?

Titanic had a lot of things going against her. The screws are actually a decent size; it's the rudder that's too small, and the centerline screw (the one just forward of the rudder) was on a non-reversible turbine, so when the bridge ordered engines full astern, while attempting to steer around the berg, there was no slipstream for the rudder to operate. The watertight compartments didn't extend all the way up to the main deck, so as the water reached the top of one bulkhead it spilled over the top. The crew had insufficient training in handling such a large vessel; there weren't enough lifeboats, etc., etc. etc. I could go on, but as you can see, one can become consumed by this vessel.
The ship struck the iceberg at 11:40, sank at 2:20; an hour forty minutes. And a surprisingly long amount of time for a ship that large to founder.

---------

As for favorite movies here's a partial list.

Braveheart
Patriot (Mel Gibson)
We Were Soldiers
Patton
The Last Samurai
Seven Samurai
Any Godzilla flick from Toho Productions
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Star Wars, Eps. III, IV, V, VI (Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi)
Saving Private Ryan
Excalibur
Das Boot
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Hero
Skyhigh
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Master and Commander

Hehehe.. You seem to have a lot of favorite movies, Scooter. I'm not too much of a movie person, myself. On the other hand, then there's....

Kill Bill Vol. I
Kill Bill Vol. II
All the InuYasha movies
The Ranma 1/2 movies
The Green Mile
Titanic
Enter the Dragon
Excalibur
Farenheit 911...

And some others I absent-mindedly forgot about. wink.gif

Another Quesion: What is your favorite non-anime TV series?

TV? I don't watch a lot of television, but when I do, it's usually the History or SciFi channels, occasionally AMC, and very rarely network.

But here's what I like:

M*A*S*H
Hogan's Heroes
Battlestar Galactica (The new series)
Babylon 5
Star Trek: The Original Series
Stargate: SG1 (on occasion)
Dr. Who (Love the classic series, particularly with Tom Baker)
Mail Call
Mythbusters

So, that's what I watch, when I watch TV. Which reminds me, I've fallen behind on my BSG collection, and really need to contemplate getting Season 3 and 4 on DVD, just to play catch-up.

I don't watch too much TV, either, Scooter. And I watch more movies than I do TV, but my favorite shows would be:

American Idol
The Colbert Report
House
Family Guy
American Dad
... And the occasional episode of Oprah (if I'm in the mood).

Oh, and I have seen almost all the shows you two watch, thogh I don't like them all:

Scooter:

M*A*S*H
Hogan's Heroes
Star Trek
Stargate
Dr. Who
Mythbusters..

Studdevil:

Prison Break
South Park
Family Guy
Fear Factor
Reno 911
Lost
Jack *passing train muffles out sound of the words*..

itunes? Interesting. I like "i" stuff. Ipods, idogs, imacs, the works... smile.gif

Oh, and another Question: What is your main hobby?

Main hobby? I have three. I write fanfiction, predominately Ranma 1/2, although I've done a smattering of other stuff, mainly involving airplanes (Area 88, 801st TTS: Airbats). I'm a model builder, preferring to build model aircraft, including kitbashing; although I'm not against building the odd starship (Star Trek or Star Wars particularly) or naval/merchant marine vessel. I was also quite the player of AD&D 2d Edition (Bereth and Cristina in "Wild Stallion and the Drow" are both PCs of mine); I also do a Star Trek-based RP at Star Trek Simulation Forum where my character is married to both Ranko Saotome and Xian Pu, trained under Genma, and received the "Kiss of Marriage" accidentally from Xian Pu, and who's father, a landowner of some 25 thousand square miles, recognized polygamous marriages Will Marx My fourth main hobby is being a military otaku and general Mr. Know-it-all.

Lol... Hmmm. Very good, Scooter, if I do say so, myself. happy.gif Interesting. In fact, I like writing fanfic myself. Mostly Inu-Yasha, but some Ranma 1/2, too. I'll post some later when I have more time.

As for my hobbies, those would be fanfic writing, drawing, drawing, drawing, watching anime, playing my violin, and most of all, posting in KAF in the Ranma 1/2 fanclub! smile.gif

I have seen some Korean dramas, I'm not sure what their names were, though. I really enjoyed them. Whenever I see a parody of one of those on American Television, I finally know what they're talking about. biggrin.gif

Oh, and some of my favorite movies are Rush Hour 1 and Rush Hour 2. Those two movies always make me laugh. laugh.gif

I think that's cool that you sing, Hana ^^. I was in a choir in highschool, junior high, and the elementary school. So I really like singing too. smile.gif

Question: Do you like J-Pop? Who's your favor artist? Song? If not, what genre do you like? which artist? And which song is your favorite?

I do enjoy J-pop, but haven't listened to enough of it to form a real opinion. That being said, I like: Swing/Big Band (particularly Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman), Classic Rock (too many to choose), Classical (Beethoven rocks!), the odd opera (so does Rossini), the Star Wars Soundtracks (Gotta love John Williams), almost any sound track by James Horner and Jerry Goldsmith, the STVI soundtrack, Yohko Kanno (wrote one dogfight and fist fight to Tank! and Piano Black from the Cowboy Bebop OST1 CD), and the odd country singer (An American Soldier, by Toby Keith brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it) (and that includes Johnny Cash as well).

I love J-Pop. I can honestly say that it very well may be my favorite musical genre. My favorite artists/bands (J-Pop) are:

Tomiko Van/ D.A.I- favorite songs: Fukai Mori, We Are, Shinjitsu No Uta, Rakuen

Hamasaki Ayumi- Favorite songs: Dearest, You

BoA- Favorite song: Every heart

Hitomi- Favorite song: I am

...

I love Western music though, too. It's funny you like the Glenn Miller Band and Benny Goodman, because those are my two favorite swing bands! laugh.gif My favorite swing songs are Sing Sing Sing, and In The Mood. ^.^

Favorite Western genres include: Classical (Beethoven, Mozart), Classic Rock (The Who, Beatles, and escpecially Jimmi Hendrix!!!!!), even a few golden oldies remind me of what my parents liked back when, and that really touches me. crying.gif

Um, I hope these aren't too many questions for you guys..? Well, if not, here is another:

Question: If their is one person (in real life) you admire/wish you could be, who would it be? smile.gif

I swear, things are getting freaky, N-chan; because those are two of my favorites as well. I also wrote a dogfight scene (air combat) to the 8 minute version of Sing, Sing, Sing.

Question: If their is one person (in real life) you admire/wish you could be, who would it be? smile.gif

Oh man, so many to choose from...

Albert Einstein
BG Chuck Yeager (first man to fly faster than the speed of sound)
BG William "Billy" Mitchell (I'd love to tell him that he'd be vindicated twenty years after he proved that a plane can sink a battleship)
Winston Churchill
Franklin D. Roosevelt
GAF Henry "Hap" Arnold (father of the modern Air Force, and Chief of Staff of the US Army Air Corps/Forces)
GEN George S. Patton
COL Lawrence Chamberlain

xd.gif Lol, I am serious! Dead serious.. I had absolutely NO idea those were your 2 favorite songs, as well!! XD That is so crazy... blink.gif But, I assure you, I'm not following you. shockingscary.gif What an odd coincidence, though! O.O

I'm actually not quite sure who I'd be. Erm...

... Madame Marie Sklodowska-Curie, because I would've discovered 2 very essential elements in the periodic table, and very honored for it. Plus, I'd be the first woman to win 2 Nobel Prizes. happy.gif
