I've got the first, second and fourth dvd of the 2nd series of GITS:S.A.C. And i've thoroughly enjoyed watching it very much. Especially the 2nd episode on the Vol.1 - Testation where Section 9 have to hunt down a runaway state-of-the-art killing machine that had escaped from the Government. It had the brain of a young man who had died before his 20th birthday. He had a mission...He wanted to go and kill his parents cause of them not appreciating his abilities...Why did he have so much hatred?
But before he managed to even reach thru to kill them, the Chief Aramaki head of Section 9 got permission for the president of the company to hand over this powerful weapon capable of stopping the machine dead in its tracks.
Maj. Motoko Kusanagi's team couldn't stop it cause of it avoiding any attempted attacks made upon it. No Tachikoma bullet could stop the thing, not even the slightest scratch! So once the major fried the brain of the son of his parents, she saw into the past and she said "There was something...he said mum what do you think of my steel body?"
This episode touched me the most because why would the son have so much hatred as to get revenge on his own parents? His friend had removed his brain b4 he died and placed it into the machine- that was the son's wish...And so to conclude this review the friend got arrested eventually telling the whole truth of who and why there was someone piloting it. Togusa (one of Section 9's guys had interviewd him along with Aramaki (chief of Sec. 9)
And it kept me thinking for days on end about why this boy had to have attempted to kill his own parents...and how much hatred he had had inside that wanted to b unleashed...
