I will post this in the Ranma 1/2 fanclub aswell later. I loved the 1st series of Ranma, especially the first 4 or 5 episodes, they had me in stitches the first time that i watched them. No other anime series had me laughing so hard as Ranma did. The music is simply adorable, the characters are so funny and the plot device of changing from boy to girl, girl to cat, man to panda, man to pig, duck etc. is just so funny. I liked all the action, all of the jokes and I was really, really impressed with this series. The only downside was that after 3 series i finally got fed up with it. The manga remained good [probably because i could read it faster then i could watch it] but the anime just could not keep me hooked.

The anime stayed very close to the manga (thankfully) and it really does have you laughing your head off at times. It reminded me a bit of Kodomo No Omocha in the way that the animation was not top notch but everything else about the series was great. Also, its from the same ppl that are doing Inu Yasha, and to be honest it IS Inu Yasha, same voices etc and same type of characters (ie. Inu Yasha = Ranma)

The voice acting is yummy, very adorable, a real plus for the series. There is no other voice acting in any series that i prefer to that in Ranma 1/2. The theme music is also simply adorable, I cant understate how good this series is. The animation, while old, is simple and is able to stand the test of time [like Ghibli films do] I love this series and although I know it would not be to everyones taste, I would recommend anyone to watch just the first 4 episodes. Simply priceless. Ranma is also very good in its re-watchability factor. I could happily rewatch the series over and over and over. [i have only watched His & Hers more times]

My one problem, only problem, with this series is that it goes on forever. I like closure in anime series, an ending, something, i don't want to be watching a series with over 100 episodes with no end forthcoming. As it was i got up to the 3rd series, and I am busy reading the manga of the rest. Thats enough for me to keep me laughing. I would note though that Ranma is very addictive. when i was taking screen captures i ended up rewatching some of the episodes, they were just so funny.

Also, unlike most of my reviews regarding sound effects, I have to admit that the sound effects in Ranma are great. They really add to this great title.

And now a word of caution. Never, and i mean NEVAR! NEVAR even think about watching this in english. The dubbing is so bad its beyond belief. I had nightmares about it and it was one of the biggest disappointments I have ever come across in anime.

i share your opinion on this anime too, but i managed to finish the whole series, somehow i just enjoyed it and to top that, i watched it twice! maybe that's because they repeated it on tv, but the bad thing about the anime is that they just left it hanging there not telling you what happend to akane and ranma, whether they finally got married or not, i've only read some of the manga so i don't know how the ending is like.

I love ranma 1/2! The animation style, the voice acting really is "yummy" and the music is cute. Have you watched the OVA episodes? They are tons better in all the departments. And Ranma starts coming onto Akane more. unsure.gif The animation for them is tons better.

For the whole series in general: I could not stopped watching. From the first episode I knew I was hooked. Ranma and Akane really are the perfect couple no matter how much they fight. The only downside i see to the anime is that they don't end it. I could die happy if they ended it.

Now After finishing the whole series in anime, I've gotta finish the manga from book 10. I need to know what happens! Oh wait! I fogot about the movies. Guess whos going to go get them tomorrow? ME!!!!!

Anyone with a bit of knowledge would know that Ranma is the best! I also agree with the dubbing problem, they just failed, horribly.

I don't really mind the dubbing problem since I love the series so much and the voices. I'm just thankful that there is an anime series for ranma 1/2.
