History of Akuma Toshi Akuma Toshi was funded to be a remote post, positioned on the edge of Austral, near the frozen north, for travelers to stop and recuperate as well as to monitor the status of the frozen lands but as the World Wars broke out Akuma Toshi was re-forged into a ‘Bunker City’, the last and most effective of its kind. Its location was situated into the base of an asteroid that had crashed to Earth before the 2nd Ice Age. Building began during before the World Wars, it was finished about two years into the World Wars. Standing between the lip of a naturally shielded lagoon and a mountain of what remained of the ancient asteroid it was, as were the other Bunker Cities, virtually impregnable from outside sources. The city increased in size, not in length and width but in height and depth, with the manufactures thinking that it would be better if they built within the city borders, keeping the city the same size while still expanding downwards. Resulting in giving the city thousands of levels moving deeper into the earth and mountain. At one point after the wars the lagoon threatened to collapse into the city, flooding its lower levels, the problem was solved when an artist offered to embark on a project that would both solve the problem as well as giving the city a piece of artwork to keep. The project was finished and now a ten meter thick wall of transparent battle grade glass stands between the city and the lagoon depths. It was christened the ‘Lagoon Wall’. Aside from the Lagoon Wall two other features stand prominently in Akuma, firstly the large pyramid standing at the center of the city that had shielded the city’s population during the World Wars and now serves as a kind of new world ‘sanctuary’ for those who could afford to live there, secondly was the color of the buildings. The materials used to create them came straight from the asteroid, giving the objects created a kind of strange black tinge, giving the city the nickname ‘Dark Bunker’ during the wars. A dark and foreboding place. Advanced technology wise, it is still stuck in the mindset of war, with some of the most advanced and dangerous weapons being manufactured within its borders. It has the highest crime rate in the world and its lower levels have become the source of legends but that hasn’t stopped billion dollar companies like Mega Inc. from forming their head of operations there. Weather wise it is almost always raining, and if not that it’s cloudy. The sun hardly ever shines brightly in this place but on the rare occasion one can catch a glimpse of a remarkable sunset from a few exceptionally towering sky scrapers. ((Being in the city is kinda like being in Star War’s Coruscant (Ep I, II, III))) -------------------
