Hmm must have missed this topic... heres my little bio then. Name: John P. Age: 20 Don't remember when I started drawing... but I know at a very young age. I was born in Thailand, then moved to Canada at the age of 10 or so. Growing up with shows like Kamen Rider, Samurai Pizza Cats , Saint Seiya, Dragonball, etc. I always made some drawing about these shows. Thats where my anime addiction came from too. I have attended illustration, figure drawing, and painting classes at Sheridan College here in Canada, but only for one year... a few problems came up so I'm not there anymore. Currently just working, trying to make a living |

-pins- (can't believe no one did this sooner) Name: Elizabeth (Tantal) Age: 19 Medium: Photography History: I've always enjoyed taking pictures. My family does a lot of traveling and we went on a lot of family vacations to sites around the USA growing up, which I believe was a big influence on this. My first real exposure to the art was at the age of 10 when my dad bought a Pentax K1000. My first experience with a darkroom setting was in my last year of highschool when I took a class in B&W Photo. I loved it and continued to practice B&W processing outside of classes up until starting college (especially after receiving my own SLR camera as a gift). After a year in college studying other things I took a summer college course in photography, fell in love with it again, and changed my major. XD Now I'm studying the arts and photography full time. -------------------

Name: Xirelle ( pointless to give u ppl my name seeing tt none of u would noe how to pronounce it) Age: 17 I started drawing when i was very young. But i wasn drawing manga and stuff. I was still playing wif crayons n colour pencils den. I took art lessons frm young and stopped only recently. i started with chinese painting den learnt a bit of oil painting and stuff. Learnt bits and pieces of things but nothing specialised. It was only after watching Gundam Wing which awed me into becoming a mangaka. So i had been looking out for hoilday manga lessons to take up. And been reading manga in loads more detail. So i had better foundation but i learnt manga by myself. Besides singapore has very little reknown manga artist (except for nick fong hu makes special effects in movie...) so it further inspired me to become a full time mangaka. But of course dis is my view. My parents dun really think of it has a career Anybody here draws manga and is actually supported by parents? Like they actually sponser u to manga lessons... -------------------

Name: Joanna Age: 19 Preferred tool: mechanical pencil (too bad it smears on me since I'm left-handed) History: Well, I've been drawing ever since I could pick up any drawing utensils. (Luckily I never doodled on the walls.) I started off with just animals and scenery/nature. However, that got boring, and it didn't dawn on me that I could start drawing anime-style until I saw the Fatal Fury movies my cousin borrowed from his friend. (Well, they're mine now since neither one ever asked for it back, bwahahaha.) I believe my skills derive from being self-taught and several classes I took in middle/high school... and currently I'm taking one in college, but it's really just basic things since it's one of those pre-requiste courses. However, I'd like to believe my art style has become somewhat unique in the fact that I always tried to emulate from the anime/manga I've seen. In fact, my eye style is mostly inspired by the Slayers eye styles. As for the other things... I'm still experimenting on that. Currently trying to learn how to work professional paint programs... like Photoshop and Painter IX. So confusing. Oh yes, I'm also currently trying to emulate Yû Watase's style of hair... it's so pretty. (The hair shading in my "Random Guy" drawing was an attempt to copy her style.) Though I guess in this sense, it'd make me a cheat since I technically don't have my own truly personalized style because I emulate other styles I see. *rambles on about nothing* -------------------

-> Hey, yo! This is a very nice topic to introduce ourselves as an artist within us. (: Name-> Manuel L. (or M.L. for short) Age-> 24 Auto-Bio-> I'm originally from Quezon City, Philippines (so I can type in tagalog too!), and then moved here in the US on 9-16-2000 and settled in Vegas on 2001. I've been drawing/doodling since age 5, my first best artwork was I drew a car (a Mitsubishi) that half new and half wreacked (age 6, while using a pilot sign-pen), but I drew it on a bussiness record book and was lost forever. When I was grade 6-7, I used to provide drawing messed up Marvel/DC superheroes/villains in stick figure to the whole class, they had fun 'cuz the real name of the heroes are my classmates. Then during grade 6 up to now I've been designing cars, but my skills can't keep with my imagination thou. Also while not designing cars, I've been doing buildings/houses, shoes, and thinking for the next best thing, drawing manga. Cont.-> I've started drawing short manga's since I was 2nd year high school after watching tons of Sailor Moon's, DBZ's, and Yu Yu Hakusho (aka. Ghost Fighter back in the Philippines), and I started drawing movie posters involing my manga, the title was "Boys"[1994] but later called "XD"[2004] (because back then, I suck on drawing girls, crap!). My first real Anime-looking artwork was made in 2003, when I drew few anime chicks (my first on was a modified version of Kaname Chidori from FMP manga in New Type USA). And then at mid 2003, I finally reconsider "XD" to be set aside, and pursuing "Driving Supreme". Since I'm new still (10-28-2005), I haven't uploaded few of my works (just yet), only my sig is the proof of my artwork (as of yet). But I have a link for the story desrciption on my home forum (TQPI.net). http://www.drpforums.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1931 -> Let's say I'm not THAT good as of yet, but I'm trying very hard to get this manga for going through. I do apologize for the long post (infact this is one of the longest ever). ->BTW my avatar is also my personal work too. (: |

Well... I guess I'll post. ^^ Name: Nelson Age: 19 Bio: I currently live at the island of Puerto Rico (no surprise if some people don't know), so those without Cable TV are pretty short-handed in what anime refers to. Though we got to watch series like Rurouni Kenshin, Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z in a good Spanish translation, we haven't got to watch much (or at least, I haven't) via our local channels and such. That being the case, I did not know the difference between anime and American animation until as follows: Hitting on the spoiler will reveal my super-long post, by which I apologize in advance. Thanks for reading, and best regards to all artists! -------------------

Name -Adam Age - 17 country- good ol' England I started drawing in general when I was about 7, drew alot of dinosaurs and demonic things. people began to worry I was turning into the Evil person everyone loves to hate hehe. About four years ago a discovered Anime in the style of Dragon ball Z. never really tried to draw it until recently about 3 months ago after a friend, my cousin and I decided to do a comic. They work on all the technical stuff while I draw the whole thing. Thats the reason I started drawing anime. Manga style, I find slightly more difficult, since I drew demons, the bodies were always mutated and hideous. So Humans I find amazingly difficult to zone into while I draw. I've never taken art lessons, my dad beleived it was waist to learn others techniques before my own had begun to develop properly. Without my own how could I incorperate others into it. So I've learnt everything My Dad knows then developed on that. I also write poems, stories, Fan fictions and Roleplays. -------------------

(Pardon the length of this.. I babble when I'm high.) Hiyahs I'm Alice ![]() I'm 19, unemployed, and my favorite color is purple, followed by black and Silver. I live with my guinea pig and close-friend Onyx. ![]() I also live with my Scorpio BF, Stevies. ![]() And I also live with Haruka, my pipe. (That's not really drugs in there, it's for show and it's actually harmless hemp.) ![]() I find things like this extremely funny. ![]() I don't yet have a purpose in life so I'm trying to find one. I know all sorts of off the wall things and have an understanding for different things like, Spirituality, Astrology, Tarot, Illuminati, Science, Hippy stuff, Bizzre humour expressed on paper, Taekwondoe, computer geekiness, psychology, photos, Medievil weapons, Anime cons, guinea piggies, pot, Extreme sports, video games (RPGs mostly), Marijuana, Dreams, nature, upsetting truths, art, logic weighed over emotion, and so many other weird things. I want to go to Art college, but I don't know what I would like or what there is even. I've been drawing since before I could write. Expressed talent when I was 8 but no one ever caught on or cared much. I read to the class practily every other day because I'd made picture books. Didn't really start drawing good until I was 11 thanks to Mortal Kombat. So here I am 19, thinking about getting a G.E.D. soon and possibly going to art college. I don't think any would want me though, because of the G.E.D. :| Anyways. Up until Nov 2005 I never really tried with my art. Was never taught anythign about drawing nor read anything about it. Just saw and did. Never done any exhibiting or even been to one gallery or anything and basicly don't know much about art, but I'm trying to learn so I can see how I do. |

Hey all! My names James, and this is actually my first post on KAF. (Ive been a member for a few months, but i've never posted in a forum before Age:16 Fave medium: Good ol' pencil and paper I began drawing... oh lets see... I cant remember when, but I know I was very young. I started out with drawing simple 2-d cars with useless gadgets strewn all over them. Those times, however, are long gone. Now, my subjects are usually of whatever im most into at the time. I had a Metriod phase (lol a whole 3 drawings), a Starcraft phase (notebook disappeared One problem though. I am a COMPLETELY self-taught artist. Basically, i cant seem to figure out ANY way to draw Anime! Usually i can develop my own style for such things, but I cannot seem to even get the basics, now that i am clearly in my Anime phase. I have also had trouble with the human figure in general. Now that I finally got my hands on an Anime 'How-To' book, I can barely make any progress because I am not accustomed to following other people's techniques. I also seem to have enormous problems with finding subjects... It is nice to be a part of KAF so far, and it is nice to meet you all. -------------------

hello! im Krystle and I'm already 18!!! (oh noes) and I'm in canada right now. anyways, i just recently started art at 14 during highschool when i had a fun time in my art class and i just started to pursue it. I started my art off with anime and drawing from seeing. Of course, since I draw anime, i had to start watching it too, and it all started with dragon ball z and my drawing reflected what anime i was curently watching. So therefore, since then, i've had many art character phases such as my dbz phase, escaflone, gundam wing, FLCL (my longest running phase But until recently, Ive been trying to kick myself in the butt to work harder and also change my style away from anime. I've been doing alot more life drawing and just drawing people that are in front of me during class (and trying not to get caught by the people I am drawing) my favourite media is pen and I occassionally like to paint with acrylic. I've been wanting to do some computer images, like working with photoshop and perhaps a tablet, but I'm no good with computers. anywhoo, yeah, i have several art pages somewhere here in the kaffeteria, but it's been so long since i've updated it, i don't know if it even exists. -------------------
There's supposed to be a fancy signature image here... ***************************************************** Prepare to be saved sig by flcooly KAFFing ONCE AGAIN!!! |

Name: Elline Age: 18..turning 19 in 13 days Gender: Female Ethnicity: Filipino Favorite Media: Graphite Pencils and Pens Favorite Genre of Art: Gothic, Macabre, Fantasy Biography: Well, I was born in the Philippines and then moved to New Jersey almost 4 years ago. I started drawing when i was in kindergarten. But I really got into drawing in anime-style when i was in 2nd grade. I still remember that my favorite used to be Sailormoon. I grew up watching that show as well as Dragonball Z, Fushigi Yuugi, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Rurouni Kenshin. I never had any formal training or lessons in art. I had 2 art classes in school. That was about it. Those classes never helped me much. It was probably my parents' genes that provided my inclination to art and drawing. My Grandfather was an architect. My dad used to be a painter. My brother's an architect. And my sister draws from time to time. I guess it runs through my blood. I used to be obsessed in drawing but now my passion waned a little bit. It's probably because of college and having a major that isn't related to art whatsoever. Presently, I attend Rutgers Univ. and I'm taking Animal Science. But I still love to draw when time permits. |

Name: Katrina Age: 18 going 19 on November Location: Quezon City, Philippines Medium of choice: dry media, mostly pencils. Background I've been drawing comedic shorts for our school paper ever since fifth grade and started shifting to illustration when I turned 13. Later on, I took on the job as art editor of our publication and ended up winning a few things that involved it and posters. Now I'm in my freshman year taking up visual communications - fine arts in our local university (upd). Most of my earlier influences involved anime, considering that it was an easier step to realism when I was younger. My first anime's were Sailormoon, Akazukin Cha Cha, Voltes5, Daimos, and Yu Yu Hakusho- but later on my tastes on anime became very varied once I learned how to work torrents. I was suddenly absobred with Bleach, Yakitate Japan, Samurai Champloo, Honey and Clover, the Interstella 5555 series, Gseed, Gankustuo and many others. My favorite manga would have to be MARS XD because I'm such a girl. Other than illustrations, I'm also a bit profficient with graphic design. I make icons wallpapers and site layouts. I am yet to figure out coding, speed painting and cg within the summer. Most of my art surrounds fantasy. I like drawing things with tricky poses and busy actions- having said... I really don't like working with details unless I'm in a good mood. I'm a bit ADD with working so I tend to keep good line art in storage until I find myself in a good day. I like working with pencils in particular since I always practice shading and whatnot. I'm alright with wet medium but I can't seem to combine them well with my illustration work. I'm hardly the proffessional, but I do try to meet deadlines when requested to work and am mostly agreeable. ^^; As of now I'm still working on the male anatomy and animals. |

Name: Kristine Age: 20 Occupation: None at the moment I started drawing the way most kids do, heads with arms and legs. I went to a magnet school for visual art when I was in fifth grade, so most of my early works were extreemly realistic. For the longest time, I couldn't draw people, but then in high school, I started getting into fantasy artists like Nene Thomas and Amy Brown. My first anime was Sailor Moon... my favorite inner senshi is Jupiter... but the outters rock and my fav. outer is Neptune. :Pulls self back on topic: From there I watched all anime possible on Cartoon Network until my mother dragged me away from the television and banned anime. (It was a very sad day...) I drew fantasy art for a few years, then somehow, while I was in the Army, I started talking to ppl about anime again... and since I've been attempting anime for about a year now, and I'm beginning to see progress. Ummm.... things I don't do well/can't do at the moment.... photoshop... don't have it, can't use it. Acrylic paints. Anime. Males in general. feathered wings. Hands, body positions. ...things I believe I can do well.... Females, eyes, faces, bat-like wings, pencil and charcoal, realistic/fantasy art. |
