In fact, I think that's how most people who aren't familiar with the Japanese language, would spell it. No offence though Kamikaze has a positive meaning in my opinion. I've heard it translated as 'divine wind' which seems pretty close to me. As you probably know, Kami means god, or gods. Spirits really... I don't see anything wrong with the word really. I guess it just depends where you live. I live in Melbourne, Australia, which is a very culturally diverse city, so there is very little racial tension, even considering what did happen during WWII. -------------------
