Episode 13 of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai.
They tried so hard, and did so well, but in the end it was hopeless after all. At the first time, I do my best to try again against the inevitable tragedy. In the second time, I become disgusted towards the inevitable tragedy. The third time, disgust is overwhelmed into painfulness. But by the seventh time, this all becomes a farce comedy. -Frederica Bernkastel -------------------

I have cried countless times during Naruto. And I mean countless. It's sad.
Lovely Complex Episode 8 SPOILER:
When Otani rejects Risa after they talk about bear curry and she goes to find Nobu-chan and her boyfriend, and when Risa tries to tell them what happened all she can say is "Kuma (bear)....kumaaaa....kuma...currry" Other LoveCom episodes too. I cried a LOT. Code Geass R2 when SPOILER:
Shirley dies Rolo dies Lulu dies and Nunnally starts screaming and crying I cried a lot for that... There are probably others that I can't think of at the moment. -------------------

Maybe Hughes funeral in FMA. Another nominee would be, [ahem], the last episode of Azumanga Daioh. I'm a freak, almost crying during the graduation scene. -------------------

The most saddest episodes I've seen are #25 of .hack//Sign when Maho dies (I loved that cat) the episode when Wolfwood die and Millie started to cry ( that was a pretty sad episode and the rest are like the last episode of an anime like Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop and others -------------------

Well, anime was the first thing to make me cry since I watched ET when I was about 8-9. And trust me, I'm HF Autistic, it takes a lot to make me cry.
1. Okay, it's a movie but whatever. I watched Pokemon: The First Movie: Mew vs Mewtwo when it first came out in 2000 when I was about 8-9, and the point where Ash got turned to stone was pretty sad. After that, I lost all interest in those kind of cartoons...until...Summer 2009 and... 2. Azumanga Daioh - Episode 26 - Graduation Ok, so the first real Japanese anime that I hadn't seen on TV. A undeniably brilliant and beautifully worked series ended with a very moving ending, the whole graduation ceremony scene, particularly the graduation song and Chiyo crying. Definately the best series that I've seen so far (though I haven't watched that many animes as of this point.) It was so moving that it became, for me, the most moving TV series I had ever seen...until... 3. Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~ (Particulary Episode 12) Looking back through this thread I am suprised to see that nobody appears to have mentioned this one. I went browsing the web for 'most moving animes' and came up with someone highly recommending this one. So I gave it a whirl. I was under the weather and had a whole weekend to watch this. 2 days and 13 episodes later, I emerged from the video sharing site I had been watching the series on red eyed and streaming with tears. The whole series was even more elegantly crafted than Azumanga Daioh, and had an unbeatable music score, and most of all, it actually made me cry. But it was the emotional workings in the series. Particularly Episode 12 where Yasuna-Chan gets her sight back and Hazuma-kun finally decides that he loves her the most, and they live happily ever after it seems. This became officially the first thing to make me, a nearly 17 year old guy, cry his eyes out for a good 5 minutes straight, in at least 8 years. It's also worth mentioning that, although this scene didn't come anywhere near as close as the past two, the scene in Trigun where Wolfwood spends his last moments of life and then dies in the church, that was pretty sad. |
